I am not sure about that the post match interview from Trueman on Saturday seemed to me to suggest perhaps he wasn’t the number one target. I think they might wait and see how serious the injury to Novak is before making a final decision who to go for and the vibe today seems more optimistic on him

 

Championship clubs seem to be taking risks a lot quicker these days - perhaps knowing lower League clubs must sell their best players.

It's fairly obvious from the latest media statements McAleny isn't our number one target so let's move on and capture as quoted "the one right for us and right for them"
Not a clue who but I trust the recruitment department to get the players in to strengthen our squad.

 

I think, those are Kewell's comments and understandably, he and a lot of others at the club won't want to lose him. Whether the owner sees things the same way is the question.

 

What I mean is I don’t understand why people say a player will leave because he will have to take a pay cut because of the salary cap. What are his options? Are league one clubs knocking on his agents door? Probably not. All league two clubs have the same salary cap and whilst the conference doesn’t, is anybody in the conference really going to paying top dollar in a (hopefully) post Covid world? Who is next season’s Harrogate, FGR or Salford in the conference owned by a wealthy fan? They aren’t going to be having massive offers from all the other clubs.

 

With comments like that from Trueman I think it’s very unlikely they will go for him. Not very enticing is it
