I said exactly the same two weeks ago . I also suggested he might be out for the rest of the season …..I hope I’m wrong but it’s looking likely ?

I would not get rid of him. We should 100% give him a new contract. The unfortunate problem was his back-up/replacement in Pattison being injured too

Elliot Watt will never play to the levels Jamie Walker has.

The wife's dad spoke to Walker week before last ish he said at the weekend. Jamie goes to play snooker at a members club my father in law goes to. He said he was feeling better and hoping to be back soon.

Assuming he got back onto the grass and something went wrong? Always had his injuries, but can't blame this one on him, just a shit tackle. Says a lot that we cant win a game since his injury, not an easily replaced member of the squad.

I wouldn't hesitate in offering a new contract to him. He remains our best player in my opinion.

I said at the start of the season that Walker and especially Pattison could be the difference between just being a top half side and being a top 7 side.
I still believe that now but neither of them have played anywhere near enough games to make any difference at all.

Too many games where we’ve been defensively ok but just needed a spark from an attacking, goal scoring midfielder if Cook was a bit off it.

A fully fit (unfortunately we may never see it) Walker and Pattison would make a massive difference to any team in this league.

Looking back through soccer base, Walker hasn't made more than 27 appearances a season since 2016/2017.

He's already on 25 this season so perhaps with a bit of luck will still break the 30 barrier.

No way would I get rid of him. Just manage him better. Said in another post, the amount of times Walker was still on the pitch this season and last, when he looked on his arse, was ridiculous. Why? Cause we didn’t have an alternative option.

Pattison should complement the starting XI alongside Walker, not as a replacement of.

When fit, one of our most talented players. Just find a better way of managing him.

Unfortunately you cannot "manage" an injury prone player, of which we seem to have more than our fair share over the years. It is infuriating. Only Phil Parkinson minimised player injuries because he insisted on having a proper conditioning coach in Nick Alanby who implemented proper warm ups and warm downs etc, did everything as it should be done. We have never had anything remotely similar since and have paid a heavy price for it

Walker is a consistent sick note. Nobody doubts his ability or influence on a game, but no way on gods earth do I want to see him in a City shirt next season. He isn't going to miraculously stay fit for a full season given his previous history. Pattison is the same. How on earth do you build a settled team if a "key" player has long bouts of injury? Impossible

Fans of their previous clubs warned us. Yet more examples of Sparks not doing his "due diligence" on players when doling out stupid contracts.

Elliot Watt is a different type of player altogether more compared to Smallwood and at this stages of their careers he is a better player than him

That was the plan from day 1 probably Olly. What wasn’t figured was they would get injured at the same time as proved , sadly , since the start of the season. To lose two such critical players from the squad cannot be ever factored in…..?

I agree but that's irrelevant to the thread, we're discussing Jamie Walker who is absolutely a better player than Elliot Watt.

Unfortunately though, we can't keep him fit enough to properly utilise him.

If you stay after a game Steve you'll definitely seen them doing a warm down Steve, even the subs that don't play do a run.

On Pattison too, he played 47 and then 39 in his two seasons at Harrogate so I think it's very unfair to suggest he's injury prone and any due diligence would have spotted that.
