That's because he is injury prone, and this is only going to become more frequent as he is not getting any younger. His lack of minutes played since 2018 is very telling

Come May/June, get rid, simple. Yet another high earner we get very little payback from, despite his obvious talent and impact he is capable of having on a game

He is a hard tackling midfielder who plays the game in the edge which leads to injuries. To take that out of his game would only make him half the player he is

I agree he enjoys a bit of physicality in challenges but we cant afford to have one of our higher earns (I'd think) being on the treatment table more than on the football pitch, his present contract is up in May as good as he could be IMO as a club we cant take the risk of offering an extension to Jamie of another contract.

Edit - although it really wouldn't surprise me if Sparks handed him a 4 year contract extension.....

    This is a real shame.

Yes, it's frustrating, but what a shame for Jamie who had once again hit great form before suffering an injury.

I doubt he would have been playing for us if he was relatively injury free. He would be higher up

His latest injury is a result of a bad challenge on him which would probably have had the same affect on any player.

Very unlucky for him, and us, as he was enjoying a really good run of form

Jamie takes some right stick from the opposition too Park.
Makes even me wince at some of the 'tackles' that he takes.
Wonder if this is intentional by the opposition as they know that he is a danger.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it, another big call by the club at the time, we bring a lad in probably one of our top earners because better clubs wouldn't touch him with the an injury record Jamie has/had.
I get it some time you have to weigh up the pros and cons but not then make him one of your top earners even if that meant not signing him.

I’d rather have him over Johnny Williams

I’d have Elliot Watt over both of them

To the tune of Call Me Baby.

    “He’s always injured
    His wage is crazy
    Where’ve you gone to?
    Jambo Jamie?”

We miss him badly. Quality wise he’s different gear in L2 :-(

Not really a feasible option as he’s gone on to be the captain of a PL team whereas Watt has stagnated in a league 2 team even lower than us.
If he’d have stayed here we wouldn’t have had to endure Smallwood.

24 league appearances last year and 19 so far this.
43 out of a total of 76 or approx 60% of games.
I like the guy, but we can not keep employing players that miss so much of the season for dlfferent niggles.
    Broken bones obviously an exception.
