Interesting. (cue eerie sci fi music) Could silverbantam be a sophisticated artificial intelligence with a 4 figure IQ, if so would it be wise to provoke such a formidable adversary. Stop and think, you cannot begin to know what forces you could be unleashing...

What about his decision to put the Reading FA Cup quarter final tickets only on general sale meaning lots of season ticket holders missed the match ?

Tbf, we couldn't sell out a league cup quarter final v Arsenal or a league cup semi-final v Villa.

History said we wouldn't sell out v Reading.

We sold all the available tickets for Arsenal and could have sold 1000s more. The attendance vs Reading was higher because we installed new seats in A block of the main stand.

You're incorrect. The attendance was under 24,000. Capacity is and was over 25,000.

How can that be the case when the Reading attendance was 24,231 and we know that sold out even after new seating being installed?

For the Arsenal and Villa games a lot of seats were not available according to Baldwin at the time. Either broken or on the A block in main stand. Put it this way if 1500 extra had turned up at 6pm on night of those games we wouldn’t have been able to accommodate them

The Villa game had an attendance of about 1500 less than the Arsenal game - there was plenty of space if they had turned up.

Not entirely sure it was him who made that call!
Agree it was a farce, however.

The fact i had to go cap in hand to the old C&B forum to get a ticket to the Arsenal game (i wasn’t a st holder at the time) suggests that all the AVAILABLE tickets were sold. Capacity may have been restricted for H&S reasons, but it was still a sell out and could we could have sold 30k had the ground been big enough

That was technically Baldwin’s fault in that he did exact opposite to Mason for Reading game who gave unlimited tickets to season ticket holders and chaos broke out. For Villa game Baldwin gave too long a window to season ticket holders and only a short time for general sale. After pictures of massive queues in Tand A for Villa game for season ticket holders ,a lot of general public assumed it was a sellout . For both games didn’t see many empty seats despite crowd figures.

Didn't they have to cover the first few rows of seats in the kop?

There was a fair chunk of the NW corner unavailable for Arsenal due to the Sky box being put there. There were still some places available though as we had to be moved as our seats above the box obscured the goal at the Kop end for us and we were relocated underneath the box. It was a real farce as we were only in the NW corner to begin with due to having to be moved from the Midland Road. Our 'new' seats were supposed to be in the Upper main stand but due to the on line ticketing service putting the seats the wrong way round we were given seats right at the back instead of the front!
