I'm not sure it would be difficult for a guy with James's knowledge to find another position, he was well respecred whilst at the BBC allowed to interview top managers at the time, a very capable man who would be a sad loss to Bradford City Football Club if he decided to leave.

 

Thanks! Well if he does leave, then that's just another sign that the ship is sinking. Best of luck to him. Always came across as enthusiastic and committed, even though it was quite obvious that a lot of what he was saying was lip service to Edin. If a positive person like him can't work with the owners, then I think we're in serious trouble.

 

One wild rumour was he's after Simon Parker's job.

 

Come off it, that would be one hell of a retrograde step.....

 

Better paid at the T&A that he is at City.

 

Firstly ............ Take a look around any workplace, from Management down to the base jobs. The world is full of slackers doing as little as possible for as much as they can get. 40% of the workforce do 60% percent of the work. Which means that 60% can and should do more, when the chips are down. The responsibility, or onus will always rest upon the 40%, however. This is because they are the ones most likely to push themselves to get the desired result.

Secondly ........... Yes it was always going to be a hard sell to shift ST's ............. So WHY headline or hashtag it as 'BELIEVE' ?? A more suitable and aptly named campaign would have drawn a less damaging impact, IMO. Mason should have worked smarter in his thinking, rather than harder in his implementation of the promotion.

 

To be honest, I wasn't even sure what the #believe tagline was all about. Was it believing that we'd sell X number of tickets? Or was it believing that we'd get promoted? Or was it believing in the management structure? The problem with the word "believe" is that it's also a verb for "trust" and "reliance". Which kind of implies that there's a doubt in the clubs mind regarding fans and their backing.

Strange one. Anyway, I don't think it's that campaign that is the reason he's leaving. I believe (pun intended) that he thinks he's done as much as he can, but not as much as he'd like to be allowed to do. It's got to be frustrating trying to drive a club forward, but having to run it past someone all the time. I should imagine he'll take a similar role in a football club, or other sports club perhaps, but one that doesn't have a restricting management hierarchy.

 

Who says he cannot work with the owners? He has worked with them for two years now.
Is it so hard to believe that maybe he was offered a better salary and a higher position elsewhere?

 

Because it can't be as straightforward as that and it also means people can accuse Edin of tearing the club apart

 

he's not left yet though!! people have heard a rumour with zero context and believe it's true..

Really cross with what? nothing has happened yet?

 

I too am of the view that all isn’t well.
Take last close season as an example. All the rumours around McCall leaving, I didn’t want to believe them but now we know the truth around the situation.
This close season rumours are yet again abound. Little snippets appearing on here that are disconcerting.
Are people making it up for the sake of it? In my opinion on the whole no. Some self important, self styled “ITK” do but as last year some facts get out there.
I watched Rahic’s interview with dumb & dumber and wasn’t convinced that this man is sincere. He said things for the sake of appeasement and in my opinion he knew the questions before the interview, no way he would have done it otherwise. Greg Abbot was his mouth piece at the fans forum because the questions weren’t controlled.
Do I believe in Rahic? At the moment I’m 70/30 against, but desperate to be proved wrong.

 

So, Onside, are you saying you know for sure that if Mason is to leave that Edin hasn’t done the best he can to try to persuade him to stay? Personally friend of Masons are you? Or maybe of Rahic?

Just curious as to how you know what Edin is or isn’t doing.

 

Well I was told last night James Mason was leaving.
Yet another rumour or fact?
It would be a sad loss to Bradford City if true.
If true i'd wish James all the best for what he did at VP and if not it's time the idiots who start rumours like this to do one.
Time will tell but I reckon if it's true he won't be the only one leaving.

 

There can't be that many left as it stands....

 

Who would have thought it, Bradford City A. F. C., the only company in the world to have internal disagreements between staff and boss.

I imagine most of you have got other things in your lives to be getting on with, I would get back to that and leave the unnecessary stress of worrying about other people's jobs behind. Don't know about you, but I've got enough with my own.
