And if people like yourself could have accepted some of the deserved criticism of him and showed a similar sensible overview like the post above there might not have been as many extreme opposite views.

Id love him to do well at Wimbedon. He's a top man and at his best he was an absolute beast. Unfortunately we only saw the best of him for a season and a half or so. I don't want to rake over old ground but the ridicule he received on here was a pity. He was no world beater but I honestly dont think he would make the top 100 worst city players from our post premier league days although some would have you believe he was top 10!

 

Winning 1 - 0 at the moment...Jimmy just clocked one of the centre halves whilst in the air....

I also remember huge over hyping and failure to recognise he was no longer making a contribution. It's actually my opinion that these posters, such as @Park bantam, were the direct cause of 90% of the criticism he received.

 

If your not sure of the meaning of "presence",have a rerun of the the two Villa games also the Arsenal match, and many,many more matches HANSON gave his all in.OK thelads not the player he was,but his contribution should never be forgotten.I wish the boy well , and thank him once again. And he was the making of Nakki Wells,as hes never been the same player since his days with Hanson.

I know the opposition was weak, but provided he stays fit, Hanson will be a handful in league 2 for sure, the big question mark is of course, his injury record over the passed 2 or 3 years

 

You can all blow smoke up Hanson's arse as much as you like. He was a player who was decisive at best and within good reason. There's no disputing he had some great moments in a city shirt and played his part in our success. In between that, he also put in some very abject performances and was not always the answer. It's why we were so woeful in front of goal for large periods of his stint here- something his fans overlook when they get so defensive of any critisicm that comes his way.

 

Oh FFS, not the Hanson debate again, somebody whack the groundhog day clip up again.

 

Given our recent history, he's one of the most successful strikers that we've had. It wasn't all about his goals it was about bringing others into play and making the ball stick in the final third. His strike rate for a target man isn't even that bad? He offered more than Doyle has ever shown and I think will ever show in a City shirt.

 

I'm not saying he was the most talented footballer that we've had on our books, but in terms of success and all round contribution I think it's unfair to say that people can't see past Villa away and Leeds at home when he offered far more just remembering them two games..

 

Considering how bad our defence was last season, a few clean sheets to start with would be a big positive. Hanson can score as many as he likes, just not against us.

 

You deserve a second successive relegation then. Fans like you simply hold our club back.

Your dislike of all things Hanson is well known but come on, you're not stupid, you can read.
Me? Yes, I like Hanson but I am pissed off that he scored and deprived us of 2 points. I am pretty sure that others who appreciated Hanson will also be similarly pissed off too.

 

To be fair on Sheffield Utd mate. We could be 4 nil up at half time and Hanson would still play 90 mins for us.
