And if people like yourself could have accepted some of the deserved criticism of him and showed a similar sensible overview like the post above there might not have been as many extreme opposite views.

 

Just checked up on Hanson to see how he has been doing in Wimbledon’s pre-season games, but he hasn’t played in any of them as he’s out injured with a groin strain.

 

Wonder if he got it on a night out? Is flares still open.......

Id love him to do well at Wimbedon. He's a top man and at his best he was an absolute beast. Unfortunately we only saw the best of him for a season and a half or so. I don't want to rake over old ground but the ridicule he received on here was a pity. He was no world beater but I honestly dont think he would make the top 100 worst city players from our post premier league days although some would have you believe he was top 10!

 

Winning 1 - 0 at the moment...Jimmy just clocked one of the centre halves whilst in the air....

 

Obviously he wouldn't.

He would make our top 20 players of all time no doubt, and most of his critics on here would agree. People wanted him out as his best days were behind him nothing else but some want to cling to a player for dear life even if it effects their status here, some of the language aimed at him was poor however but some can't help themselves.

Not really. I'll simplify it. He was nowhere near as bad as many made out. I'm sure you will argue he was nowehere near as good as some made out but like with many things the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.

 

Agreed but it's a big leap from "somewhere in the middle" to debating whether he's not only in the top 100 worst but possibly top 10.

No one, that I can recall, has suggested that and that's why I said your post was strange.

 

I remember him being slaughtered regularly on C&B. Possibly more so than any other player in the last 10 years. This is where the inference came that people thought so lowly of him as to put him in the top bracket of worst player.

Anyway 'worst player' is always a popular thread and one that will have plenty more candidates to discuss by next May.

 

I also remember huge over hyping and failure to recognise he was no longer making a contribution. It's actually my opinion that these posters, such as @Park bantam, were the direct cause of 90% of the criticism he received.

You do realise that his last goal for any club in any competition was on Saturday 4th Feb 2017? A completely ridiculous (for a striker) 41 appearances and counting? That's nearly a full season of football and not a single goal.

On what planet does anyone really believe that he's still capable of "banging a few in"?

And he was the making of Nakki Wells,as hes never been the same player since his days with Hanson.

That's a good £5M POUND question,he did nothing at Huddersfield and zilch at BURNLEY. So that's as I said, done nothing since he left City.
