Until you disagree with him and you'll be blocked with expert reflexes reminiscent of a leftie on social media.

    Echo, echo, echo ..........

That's a main reason why a lot of people are so interested. He was never really given a chance here, which baffled many fans considering what he did while on loan at Swindon. People are still wondering whether we let him slip through the net or we rightly let him move on.

12 years ago today! Not a lot going on then? So Jake Young appointed as the saviour of BCFC.
Badly done to by manager past an present. Stevenage 9 apps 1 goal so hardly tearing up trees for them. Maybe a good sell.

The league above is a class above - it aint league two. He would be a far better option in this current squad than the shite that Cook finds himself paired with.

Yeah but that doesn't fit the narrative.

As we are likely to come up against Jake Young next season and he has spent virtually all of the 24/25 one at Stevenage, then his progress is interesting. Reading some of the posts on BT, then after his exploits at Swindon, he was going to be the next ‘big thing’. Well with figures of 4 goals in 37 appearances, he has hardly made any significant progress as measured by goals. One in every 9.25 games is poor.
Looking at his near contemporaries at City, then Kavanagh’s 13 goals from 45 appearances at 1 goal per 3.46 games is far more impressive.
However Kian Harratt also seems to have stalled. Now in the National League, he has amassed 5 goals in 37 appearances, so 1 goal per 7.4 matches. He has also mysteriously disappeared from the Oldham squad for the last two games.
Tyler Smith who remains a City player for next season has done marginally better with 5 goals in 26 appearances, which equals a return 1 goal per 5.2 games.
Oliver….. the less said the better.
Really next season is becoming a ‘make or break’ for Young.

It's tough as all those players mentioned have played up front...... Young hasn't. He's been played on the left wing all season at Stevenage but they have Elliot List who has been first choice above him. Revell wants to play 1 up top and he was never given a chance from reading up on him. He came off the bench up front and scored against Birmingham last i looked, and from their forum at the time they hoped that would give Revell the nudge to use him up front. But after than again it was just cameos on the left. He played the final day up front and scored too. T&A did an article with their sister paper over there, saying similar that he wasn't really used up top but the hope is he will next season.

To be fair to him, he still scored 1 every 229 minutes in L1 which is still a fantastic return for a lad who played 5-10 minutes per game.

Out of interest, anyone know the situation with this guy? Can’t see if he’s even made an appearance this season. Injured or out of favour?

I've had a quick look and it looks like he may well be injured.

He played in Stevenage's 8-1 pre-season win against Bishop's Stortford and their 2-3 pre-season defeat against Swansea City.

His last appearance seems to have been a very brief one in Stevenage's final pre-season friendly (their 2-1 win against MK Dons), coming on in the 81st minute, then going off injured in the 82nd minute.

He doesn't seem to have been seen since.

City do seem to have dodged a bullet with Jake Young
Although with the amount of time missed both last season and this, the sicknote will have felt right at home with our current squad

I checked a few weeks back on their forum and he was injured literally seconds into the MK friendly and hasn't been seen since. He had a set back in a behind closed doors friendly too apparently.

According to them it appears he was going to finally start being used up top a bit more from the looks of pre-season, rather than last season when he was used as a left winger, but they've found other lads who have hit the ground running. Even if he gets fit he's going to be down the pecking order there now with the new lads.

Is it too early to say his career is ending up down the pan? What might have been eh?

Other than a good 4 months at Swindon his record really isn't great, taking out that period he's on 15 goals in 108 games. You see players who have a spell where they look amazing then never show it again, it's why I was more than happy to sell him when we did and cash in.
