Played 60 minutes before being subbed in a win over Wrexham. Good to see the lad back playing and in a winning side. Stevenage 9th in league 1, must be the better standard of football....

Brilliant goal! Like many of our former players, interested to see how he gets on.

This isn't aimed at you, but i've always thought a few on here spoke a lot of garbage about Young regarding his attitude when they were in position to know anything about the lad or his circumstances.

    It should be.

They couldn't wait to start the thread telling us about Jake being subbed off and declaring "no notable impact" despite probably just having seen in BBC football that he'd been subbed off and knowing absolutely nothing else about the game.

Also couldn't wait to tell us that he hadn't started the next game either.

I get you're being courteous in your reply and that's your prerogative but I'm calling this thread out for exactly the same reasons I get criticised about my views on players and despite their crying over it, they know I'm right about the "pro club/anti disseenter" reasoning for starting the thread.

I'll be honest reading it back i'm not sure there is a narrative there or its just merely observations on a player who isn't here anymore. My narrative since Young came back has always been he'd earned a chance to show what he could do but hadn't been given it for reasons unknown. Will never understand why he wasn't given a chance to partner Andy Cook as he's better than anything else we currently have.

I agree wholeheartedly. Fair play to the lad, for whatever reason he didn’t make it here, but there’s no reason why he won’t click somewhere else.

It was purely down to money imo. The club saw the pound signs, a way to make a quick few quid and spun a few lies about Young wanting higher wages (doesn't every employee in any career)? to make it more palatable to the suckers that just bought ST's.

Despite the nonsense quoted from Rupp about investment I'm absolutely convinced that Sparks directive is exactly the same as it was 3 years ago and not going bust whilst remaining anywhere above the relegation zone is celebrated as success at the very top.

Any success we have with Rupp at the helm will absolutely be in spite of him and certainly not because of him.

Hard to judge the guy based on one game, especially since he got subbed off after 52 minutes. Could be nerves, could just be an off day – it happens. Stevenage needs stability, so he’ll need time to gel with the team.
Also, not everyone makes an instant impact. Sometimes it takes a few games to find the rhythm, especially on a debut. Let’s hope he shows more next time!:)

No sign of JY in the Stevenage squad today. Guess he’s injured?

Bit odd that you're following him on a game to game basis

Even odder than he's the only former player we're being updated on.

Anyone would think there's an agenda being pushed.

    (Temporarily selects “show ignored content”).

I’m interested to see how he’s getting on given all the furore about his departure.

Never seen so many fans get upset about a player leaving who ultimately only started 4/5 league games for us.

It less about JY and more about fans reaction. Some people seem to be reacting quite a lot don’t they?

He got a knock in the warm up say the Stevenage forum and was replaced on the bench. Tracked him a little since moving on and seemingly every time I've looked he's played on the left wing in a 4231. Sounds like Revell might be getting the sack soon from their forum, he's trying to square peg everyone into a 4231 when the have recruited for a 532 setup and its just not working.

    Fair answer!

I just didn't think he was a significant enough part of our recent past to warrant such a close eye, personally.

Perhaps people questioned it because despite starting very few games he's still scored more league goals than Oliver, Kavanagh and Smith put together. He's even just one goal behind if we chuck in a fourth striker in Sanderson.

Now feel free to try and put a positive spin on it but would most take giving Young a proper chance over the very predictable outcome of the other 4? I'm predicting that they absolutely would have and that's where the annoyance comes in.
