We are told every year we have one of the top budgets in the league but seemingly no idea how to spend it wisely. I would guess we have one of the biggest squads as well, but rather than that being as asset, we have absolutely no strength in depth. We haven't even got strength in depth in the strongest 11 if truth be told. We have spaffed goodness knows how many thousands on players that either aren't good enough or don't fit the way the manager at the time wants to play, and still there are folk defending Sparks, defending Rupp and defending Gent and think they are doing a good job.

It sounds to me like we as a club don’t want to sell Young. We are turning down offers. It doesn’t matter what we as fans think he is worth or media pundits either. We appear content to keep turning down until the end of the month. I think GA wants him to stay, and why wouldn’t he? The injury doesn’t matter, I presume Young has put in a request to leave, and the injury is just part of the package in order to maintain his status while City receive an offer they can’t refuse. However, it looks like the club are playing hard ball for once. If no acceptable offer comes in, then the fun begins.

 

All this quibble about sustainability makes me laugh you can be sustainable spending nothing or spending millions.it’s how the spending is paid for. Either a benefactor coughs it up or it comes from borrowing which is very expensive especially with a club like ours credit rating.

Does it really matter what Lewis and Young go for in all honesty? Non of us will see a penny of it and it’ll likely be used to set off any budgetary issues that have cropped up this season. Whether they go for a combined £100k or £1mil I don’t really see how us fans benefit so personally I’m well passed caring. We all know the club is a soft touch, let’s be honest it always has been, did anyone anyone expect us to turn into a Brighton or Brentford (when it comes to negotiating) with a young lad in a position above his natural position in charge? I’ve got to the point where I honestly believe the best case scenario is just to tree water and survive in this awful league until a new owner shows their face, our problems run much dealer than some wasted budget but some won’t see it. Also sustainability is a load of horse shit in football, there’s a reason no other club does it.

 

Rightly so, they’re professional footballers at a level where you need to play to pay for your mortgages. Youngs attitude seemingly stinks and he will live to regret it as he’s not championship quality.

 

Nobody is asking for us to spend money we haven't got though Park. We'd just like to see what we do have being spent more wisely.

 

We are absolutely a soft touch. Remember what Spark's said about Vaughan on Radio Leeds? There was absolutely no chance of us letting him go for peanuts and no chance at all of us letting him go to a rival. The writing was on the wall, even before he became CEO.

Nah, we're not going to use him and we're going to be in this league again next season so the only ace up our sleeve now is the ticking clock of the window and our hope that a league one club gets desperate and pushes their offer up in the hope of using him to get promoted.

We forget, it's not only what value he's worth now but if he went to say Bolton and got them promoted to the Championship then that's a great return on investment for them. Another reason why we play poker and hold out towards the end of the window. It would then require a good communication from the club afterwards explaining that position (not now so everyone knows what we're doing)

Selling now just to get rid is the least sensible option.
