As much as I want him to stay, I agree.

Not intended. Merely used to point how fickle this game is and how players shouldn't waste a single opportunity to play.

In fairness I nearly didn't post it.

Young's scored in 6 of his last 19 matches. Yet some think it's OK for him to pull out with a niggle because presumably he / they think he deserves a better move.

How about saying, 'I haven't been on top form lately - but I'm going to prove to the Bradford fans who did me know harm what they've missed this season'

Very depressing state of affairs isn't it. Won't change until we have new ownership and CEO with vision though

I'll take "sustainability" any day of the week as opposed to spending an average of eight seasons or so, in the National League as those three clubs did.

Clearly we should look up to them, because they got so much right.

For the word vision, do you mean money.
Our budget is apparently top 6 year after year, but as a playing squad, we have achieved that once since relegation.
We knee jerk from one position to the other, that has to stop and we need to let the manager build over a period of time.
Now i was all for giving Mark Hughes time, but he learnt nothing in his period in charge and after we showed a little improvement he then threw the baby out with the bathwater and scrapped that plan and we regressed .
We have to decide what is our playing style, build a squad to that and stick by it for more than 12 months.
We also need to bring the youth through, Matt Derbyshire's of this world are not the way forward.

Maybe this is where we give GA chance. Yes he maybe towing the RS/SR line re budgets but he seems to have recognised the squad is too big. Smaller numbers of higher quality could just do it if a top 6 budget is used correctly. Maybe too late for this season, albeit not impossible. Perhaps also depends on if the season goes downhill or not from here. A definite overhaul is needed - youth, hunger and quality

Depends what the context of top 6 means? Are they far and away beyond 7th and below? If the gap is only a couple of hundred grand then its literally the wages of one decent player. And currently the likes of Crewe and Barrow show what teams with apparently low budgets can do, I say apparently as I haven't seen what their wage bills are compared to ours. We might not be as far apart as some might think.

Well, based on our current trajectory, the National League is where we're headed. And our history suggests it'd take us longer to recover than they did.

And 1 decent player can make a difference. Since Walkers injury we have been poor, with no real link up play between the midfield and strikers, Osadebe and Odour have both flopped in that role and Walkers real replacement, Pattinson , who started the season well, can not seem to stay fit. Chapman. Pointon and Wilson are all wider players, could they adapt to this role. Tuesday evening could be a good time to find out.
I have decided this season has gone, no matter how close or not we are to the playoff's, far too much deadwood to try and move on. It would be great to know who actually sanctioned the signing of some of these players. We will never know unfortunately.

Couldn't agree more if I'd written this myself :thumbup::thumbup:

I get why people want Rupp out, but we can't keep holding his trust of Rahic against him.

The club is better run now than it has been since May 2000 (we all know what happened in that summer transfer window :eek2:) and we simply have to continue this and unfortunately be patient.

This is exactly what Notts and Stockport have done - sorted themselves out a few seasons ago in The Conference and built layer up on layer of good management practices and then got better. But it takes time, with many setbacks on the way.

I don't see why you think we're headed there, when we've just had our highest placing in more than 40 years. We had a bad start to a season, because frankly Hughes lost it. There's nothing I've seen that indicates that we're worse than anyone below us.

I get the despair, as this happy clapper thinks we won't be getting promoted - nobody does in L2 when a manager is sacked after the season has started.

Sorry but what has that got to do with ground capacity , “home” ticket sales and commercial activity if we moved , god forbid , to Harrogate’s ground, even ussuming they wouldn’t milk us dry for sharing? Not relevant sorry.

To be fair your point has merit as the top three are more than likely the biggest spenders in the division, possibly followed by the well backed Salford. The top three are also very well run, something that needs to be understood as a key factor here.

Better run but the bar in that period couldn't be set much lower. We aren't any better run now than when Lawn was here with Baldwin, we have bigger crowds and Sparks has hit his instruction to have us playing to budget but I wouldn't say that it's any better. I'd say we've started to make moves in the right direction with numerous coaching roles that weren't there before and getting out into the business community and that's to be applauded.

Not the fans fault but the behaviour at Crewe lost us points in my opinion

I’ll ask you , like I ask anyone else Andy.

What’s meant by a playing style?
What happens if the players don’t meet the playing style
What happens if 21 other clubs “ suss” our style , do we continue blindly?
What happens as in MH’s case the fans detest the style
What happens if the owner refuses to provide a budget to finance the style ( recruit suitable players)
What happens after 12 months the style ceases to work even if it can be determined what one is.

We can carry on all day long debating why there is no such thing as a continuation of a “ style” , for ever and a day.

An interesting debate because everyone mentions having a style but cannot say what it means.
