That is poor reporting; he was on view. In fact he was sat in front of @derrickh100@derrickh100 it wasn’t just badly worded Tarty it was clearly wrong.

JAKE Young was on view in Bradford – if you happened to frequent a certain coffee shop in the city.

The most talked-about player in Graham Alexander’s squad this week was nowhere to be seen at Valley Parade.

The only fans who did catch up with the returning striker were those who had popped into a nearby Costa on their way to the game.

His absence from this shocking home defeat, while anticipated by many, has upped the ante around his future.

Alexander played the straight bat with his post-match comments, while offering the hint of an edge for those reading between the lines.

Remember Nahki Wells 10 years ago and the mystery “limp” that disappeared the moment he put pen to paper for Huddersfield?

Or Tony McMahon ringing up this reporter in a rage midway through a game over the widespread suggestion on social media that he was faking symptoms for a potential move.

Rogered Tart, agree it’s the wording in Parker’s article giving the wrong impression, but on a side issue from my eyes watching both Young and Walker walking around the stand Walkers injury was more noticeable than Youngs.

Most of the "article" is embarrassing.

Anyone expecting Young to play yesterday needs to give their head a shake.

He's had one purple patch in a career where he's shown nothing to suggest he's anything other than a mediocre league 2 forward, this is the only chance the club has to make anything from him. If we don't manage to move him on in this window the most likely outcome is a revert to mean, and he ends up leaving for free when his contract expires.

Cheers Derrick, thats a real worry about Walker. At his best he's pivotal to any success we may have but the poor lad does seem to pick up knocks frequently.

Yeah it did read like the return of the prodigal son. I hope it works for Young but the way we are currently playing agricultural football i'd bet against.

Maybe it was just a poorly worded article, or maybe Parker was fed that line by the club as a way to help demonise Young a bit more in the eyes of fans.

If they don’t say anything on this subject then the club must be involved!!! Rest assured any monies we do get won’t be part of the players budget. Or it will come at us in dribs and drabs not allowing us to make quality signings.

That’s how it reads, a seasoned reporter , no matter we like him on not , should not get basic English so badly wrong?

I had to rub my eyes when I read it…hence “Am I reading it right?”

Not “could be read” , that’s exactly how it reads , it’s so precise, we both know it.

Parker owes the club and Young especially, a written front page retraction and apology.
Absolutely no doubting he was there now.

If the club have in anyway instigated this then they will be held to account in trying to manipulate the fan base.

I don’t for a minute think it would be instigated by the club especially as there were thousands there who could potentially see him in attendance as this thread has confirmed to be the case.

I say that because normally SP checks it out with his source at the club and especially on a controversial issue. If that didn’t happen he has to come out and say sorry to JY and to the fans for misleading them.

Think you may be a bit harsh there leaving him at home with no income and holding on to his registration
We will never know the full circumstances regarding his tenure at the club but from his point of view after being brought to the club he was getting little to no game time under a manager who wanted us to play "Champions League football he voiced (which he shouldn't have) his strong opinions
He was then shipped out fully endorsed by the club to Swindon where he had success (given a run in a team playing L2 football) his level !!!
Being recalled to the scene of his disappointment (a club that didn't want him) doesn't seem to settle well with him and he wants out (allegedly) who could blame him it was Swindon who realised any potential he may have not us
Personally think we should "cash in" whilst the going is good hopefully the funds used on strengthening the squad/paying off the no hopers on long term contracts we have
Young's only crime was telling our ex manager what a good few on here knew he wasn't a L2 manager something confirmed by the club later
We will never know the full story but it would be nice if the club would tell the long suffering fans what their intentions towards Jake Young are
    Onwards and Upwards

I just hope crap reporting and the flare up it has caused don't get in the way of the real issues at the club!

I remember back to when he signed for us and somebody quoted a Hearts fan saying exactly the same regarding injuries. Although his current injury - he was whacked for this one.

Maybe a tad harsh, but i am sick to the back teeth of prima donna sports men and in particular footballers who think the world owes them a living. They are well paid for doing something they love, they signed the contract , honour it.
My god, i would love £1000 a week for what probably amounts to a 25 hr week.
I also do not buy the crap its a short career and they have to be paid so much, do they suddenly become a cabbage at 35 years of age, unable to re train and do something else.

The article has been updated to say "The most talked-about player in Graham Alexander’s squad this week was nowhere to be seen on the battered pitch at Valley Parade."
