Can we not just de- register players,to create space. We still pay them, but they are not included in the squad, just like now really with our bloated numbers of playing staff.

Clearly that cannot happen. The players seem to like the system. Let’s see how good our coaching team are shall we? I want to see players who can adapt. Maybe Flynn has taught him a thing or two? Or maybe give Cook a rest and play a combination of other strikers.

Other than the last four games he’s mostly played alongside Charlie Austin . Kemp however is his main provider .

 

We can, but its a situation no club wants to be in, just paying players who are unable to feature. Definition of wasting money.

I know, this club is a prime example of it.I just think that one of the best younger players in recent years gets to our first team and he may be sold in months of us seeing him. I want to see our team building on players who have the passion and the ability to take us places not players coming here for one last pay day.

Rod, I agree with most of what you posted but not on Smallwood.I watched him again against Crewe and you must have seen his over hit free kicks or poor corners, him running with the ball and getting caught by someone well behind him and then losing a tackle on the edge of our area and giving up again. We need better.

Regardless of your personal thoughts on him, which are obviously negative as you mention him at every opportunity, Smallwood is a big part of this team and has been an ever present in a team that made the playoffs last season, despite being hamstrung by negative tactics. Yes his set pieces are shit but that’s on the club to sign players that can actually take them, it’s a myth that he hogs them all I’ve seen others have a go and they’re often even worse. If getting caught on the ball makes you shit then you must really despite Pointon after the Notts game.

Smallwood has contributed far more than the player titled in this thread has ever contributed to this club, despite some gushing over him and seeing him as a savour, and I bet that will still be the same when their respective contracts have expired.
