    Long ball? Really?

We are more direct at times and get the ball forward quicker but I definitely don't see it as long ball. At times we do still look to move it through the thirds, we just don't retain possession for possessions sake like we did under Hughes. I can't see any reason why this style wouldn't suit Jake Young.

I would like him to come home. Plays for the rest of the season and helps us win promotion. It would show a level of maturity that would be noted by perspective buyers. If he wants to leave he can in the summer. His ties to Swindon are minimal, they have a loan fee contractual arrangement but that is not like a full contract. We return a fair amount back.
Hughes is no longer with us. All the team look happy now is the time.
If he doesn’t want to come back forcing him would be a nightmare. However, we have the right to enforce a review of his loan agreement. We cannot let a competitor have an advantage of a goal scoring striker.

A big difference is Doyle had 6 months left on his deal, Young has 2 1/2 years left.
We hold all the aces. The lad can't down tools like Doyle did.

Selling the leagues top scorer, currently with 16 goals in 18 games, probably more come January 1st, aged just 22 years old and with 18 months, possibly 30 months remaining on his deal, for just 250k measly pounds.

And when we need another striker and have promotion ambitions.

    Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Who cares? Played on the wing, was a year younger.

What the hell does it matter? Cook scored 1 in 21 for Mansfield.

    Move on!!!

We need a healthy amount of numbers up top and at the moment we are playing 2 and only have 3 to choose from (sorry Derbyshire).

Bizarre to question where Young fits in. He fits in when there are opportunities and he earns his shirt.

There will be plenty of rotation and injuries between now and May and Cook, Oliver, Smith and Young will all get a chance.

A minth ago we were running Cook into the ground and now some folk suggesting we dont need Young!

Makes me laugh when I hear people say we should leave him at Swindon or sell him for 200k. We sold academy players like Sahil for 200k.

If Peterborough had the EFL top scorer they would be asking for £3m.

You do realise he's not going to say to the local paper "I want to go back to Bradford and don't want to be here". Swindon don't have anywhere near the money that he's probably worth and I'm sure he'll come back here and start scoring for us. If he sulks in any way or doesn't put the effort in, it'll have proved that Hughes was right about his attitude and I think he's more than intelligent enough not to want it to look like that.

Judging by Jake Young's latest interview he isn't against coming back (not that he has any choice in the matter), he just wanted to play, he seemed quite mature about it. He was also talking about having a 4 year contract. Nice situation for us, with Cooky Monster and Smith partnership improving by the game and Vidaine Oliver back.
also if Jake Young keeps scoring at Swindon up until January at 22 he will likely attract interest from clubs with money to spend. Nice problem for us to have for a change.

Spite is my middle name, I'd bring him back JUST to de-rail the yokels. I'd also re-sign Levi Sutton on a three year deal just to pee of @Kevin1954@Kevin1954

He's the most natural replacement in our squad imo and I'd be giving him minutes to develop because I think in the long run the club will certainly benefit.

Who's the other options in the squad? Pattison is injured, Odour has a questionable work ethic and attitude, Osedebe hasn't made the most of his chances and Chapman/Wilson aren't central midfielders.

Pointon has ability, we've all seen that so I think we should be getting behind him, letting him develop and making sure he gets enough minutes to do that.

    I agree.

To be fair to Jake Young, after his spell at Barrow and being frozen out with us, his career as a professional footballer wasn't in a great place.

He's earned his shot at playing in a higher division if there is an offer pending. Good luck to him.

Its all subjective Park, and I mean no offence, but I think you do epitomise the lack of ambitious thinking amongst our fanbase.

Mo Eisa went from Cheltenham to Bristol City after one good season, for £1m - he was 25 and the sum total of his league record was 23 goals in 46 games. Not just for that season, his career to date at that point.

Max Watters went on loan to Crawley for half a season and joined Cardiff for £1m. He was 21, and scored 13 league goals. Almost identical to Young in terms of age and performance (in fact, Young has scored more).

Omar Bogle went to Wigan for £850k after scoring 19 goals in 27 games, in his first spell in league football at the age of 23

Luke James (remember him?!) went for £650K, after scoring 13 in his first full season in League 2.

Connor Washington went for £600K after just 5 goals in his first League 2 season, at the age of 22.

Maybe you lack management expertise at a higher level but as the working head of the club Sparks had the overall responsibility for all managemnt of all areas of the club. The fact he seemed to not get involved and let Hughes have his way and getting rid of Young even if it hurt the club shows his lack of management skills. Good management is about controlling events not ignoring them and allowing a manager to seemingly manage the club with no control over him is a weakness
BTW you seem to like accusing others of making things up. It is often untrue and your way of answering replies you do not like. Am sure you can do better with a little effort

The ability of Young, when played as a striker, is plain and obvious. All youve seen is bit part cameos and some starts from the wing - 18 months ago under a manager that couldnt get the best out of him.

Kid is older, wiser and stronger now and probably brimming with confidence.

The negativity surrounding the return of the leagues top scorer, who is just 22 and with 30 months left on his deal is absolutely baffling.
