It's going to be carnage, I'm convinced of it.

The Met Police have pulled a flanker after the Home Secretary called the protest march a 'Hate' march and expected the Met to intervene in some way. Having been given the responsibilty by the Govt for making the decision on when a protest mark shouldn't be allowed to go ahead, they've concluded that the specific powers given to them by the Govt wouldn't allow them to simply stop the protest march over the weekend. It isn't for them to intervene in what is a political how potato.

They've now written to the Govt suggesting that to stop the march would need the intervention of the Govt. This has all the hallmarks of a coming clusterfeck. Over to you Rishi and Suella.

If it routes out the "Corbynists" who have been hiding in plain sight so be it. Lets be honest Imran Hussain isn't doing this over morals, he's just looking at the electorate in Bradford and making sure he isn't deselected and keeping the electorate onside for the next election.

Totally agree but that could be said for many Muslim Labour MPs over the country, apart from the London Lord Mayor of course he knows when his bread is buttered.

Yep, takes the pressure off the Met after their previous banning of marches and protests where they have ended up in bother after.

This time though if it kicks off on Saturday then it will depend on who starts the trouble. If it is the counter protests then the Met can sit back and wash their hands of blame but if it is people from the main march then heads will have to roll again

I'm more worried about Remembrance Sunday where there will be thousands paying their respect to the fallen heros who lost their lives fighting for freedom and the rights for people to have free speech but hopefully no protests on that special day for many.

I'm a bit ambiguous toward Armistice day, the whole poppy thing and watching royals lay wreaths while emblazoned with garish medals and military regalia has never sat right with me. That said, i've never had anything but admiration for our armed services, gives me a sense of pride seeing young men and women turn from youngsters into proud members of society, compare that to the feral scum that currently walk our street and terrorise every day folk. And as such my views are this 'protest march' should never have been allowed to go ahead on the 11th. Its been deliberately done to cause division, nothing else. I'd have had a modicum of respect for them if they'd chosen say, next week, as their own mark of respect. But just like those stop oil winkers, they have no respect for anyone else. Respect for others quickly becoming a forgotten trait in society.

I disagree. I'm not a fervent royalist at all but believe rhat their presence and indeed that of senior politicians ensures that maximum publicity and media coverage is given to the Remembrance Day parade. That's to be welcomed imo.,Were the royals and the politicians not there, the Remembrance parade wouldn't be held on Whitehall in the centre of the symbols of political power and its importance would be reduced over time. That would be a travesty for the country and would lessen the respect most of the country has for our armed services. The country rarely gets an opportunity to recognise the great and often unseen work done by our military.

As an aside, if the royals were to remove their ceremonial medals, that would be a bonus!

Remembrance day is in memory of those who gave their lives for the sake of the freedoms we have enjoyed since, The march could be on any other time but was chosen for maximum publicity, The organisers and marchers are scum and anti this country and a free democracy defiling the memory of those who died for them

No, the idea we all look to family whose system has fed off the poor for centuries kinda turns me off them.

Yes, remember the fallen, but also consider that too little is being done for those ex servicemen who are homeless, in prison and suffering from PTSD.
