I wonder if the crowd will still be announced as 17,000 when we lose our last home game to be relegated in front of just Charlie and 2,000 others?

 

We've all been city fans long enough to know cowardice runs throughout the club and those on the pitch. It's going to take the right owner the right ceo the right manager, a supreme war chest and huge turnover of players at the beginning of Jan to get us anywhere near the play offs.

It's just not going to happen is it. And you can lay the that at the doorstep of the 2 biggest cowards at the club

 

January is going to be a huge job, very difficult where we'd begin but I suppose first off I'd bin of all the loans and speak with Young on his thoughts at having another crack with us, if it's a non starter then he's our player who's started the season well so should invite plenty of interest to help us get a decent fee for him we can use to try help sort out our mess

 

No it's cowardice, you can't keep their gobs shut during a good run but every time we have a bad run they run and hide. And now not even the brown noses at width of a post can get anything out of them.

Agree with most of that. I remember feeling extremely underwhelmed after transfer deadline day and I said on this forum that we definitely had a weaker squad than last season. Atrocious by all concerned

 

I fear it is already. Too much bang average, not enough quality, too many injuries to key players. Hughes has left a squad with about the same level of quality as the one he found, when he should have have left us in a better position after 18 months. Just goes to show that we haven't improved for nearly 3 years now, if you take Adams squad into consideration.

 

Of course promotion still has to be the aim which will be easier said than done but as long as we can see some progress and give it a real go we can’t ask for more

 

Apparently GA plays a game with his midfield two doing massive amounts of running - up to 15km a match. That kind of game will suit Gilliead to a tee, but not Smallwood & KMcD. Rumour has it he could be looking at signing Josh Morris as a free agent and (if fit) he would fit in nicely with Gilly.

do you not look around the stadium on match days like Saturday and think ‘League 2……how did it come to this’? Many rival fans do, but our fans have become numb with disappointment and just take it.

 

Two or three wins on the trot and we are back in there and we have just come off a three match win and a draw sequence

Of course the chances of promotion have gone and the squad isn’t good enough. Even with a big budget Hughes managed to put together a mid table squad

 

So if we say 'we need to go up' we go up?

 

It doesn’t have to be over. Get the right manager, approach the January window with ambition and proper planning, and we could still go up. But it needs a comprehensive overhaul in January. 7 or 8 need to go, and at least 3 or 4 quality signings need to be made. We’ve needed a proper midfield playmaker for a while, we need at least one wide forward with proper quality, another striker, probably a centre half too. Full backs we have a couple of steady options, but we’ll need better to be a promotion outfit.

But all of the above, starts with having a strength, clarity and ambition of leadership that we’ve lacked for years. Until this club is sold to more capable owners, and reset properly, we’ll continue to drift.

 

Absolutely spot on @Dennis. It is the cliches that is so frustrating. One season rolls into another without anything of substance of how we enact our plan. If I resign myself to nothing happening unless Lady Luck puts in an appearance it will make it tolerable for awhile.
My main worry is the fans will get up of funding failure after failure and devise a plan for Rupp that will have him legging it to West Yorkshire!
