Given we are 15th and have shown with just a couple of players out our squad isn’t up to it is our season over?

No team changing their manager mid season has ever been promoted the same year, we’ve had a bounce but the depth of the squad is lacking and last night showed we can be easily played off the park.

Given a new guy is incoming is this season just a write off again and it’s a rebuild….-again?

Of course not! Just appoint the right man (and his brother) and Bradford City can still be promoted this season.

Same old same old isn't it wait for the team to gel, keep waiting, sack manager, hire new shit manager, wait for team to gel, keep waiting again. Shit January season over play the kids, mass overhaul in the summer and repeat.

It will probably feel like the end of the world if we lose on Saturday. Especially when the Sutton front 3 could very well be Patrick-Angol-Pereira

I think the top four will be the final four - just a matter of what order. Beyond that, all to play for!

we have to assume last night was a one off. We missed the skipper and the signs are kev’s legs have gone - looked that way all season - even at Grimsby.

our CBs turn like a juggernaut and our wide men were dreadful. But this same group were competitive vs three promotion hopefuls previously.

I do not buy the argument that the squad is not up to it. we need Cooky fit asap but top 7 is still there to play for if we pull our finger out and make a permanent appointment.

Absolutely none; I've never met or spoken to them.
I became aware of them first when they took part-time Braintree to within 180 minutes of league football. I thought someone would come in for them and the man who made the move was Lincoln City owner Clive Nates. Lincoln had spent five successive seasons in the fifth tier without ever managing a top-half finish. I backed The Imps to win the National League and they did it first time. I made a lot of money thanks to the brothers. The next season they reached the play-offs and the season after they won the League Two title.and I again made a considerable sum because of the brothers.
I backed Pompey the last two seasons and lost a lot of money. But my faith in them remains undimmed. For months before Hughes finally got the push I pinpointed Bradford City as the perfect next club for the Cowleys and at the right time. I'd have sacked MH the day after the play-off final but better a little late than never.

Let’s be honest, them and Leam Richardson are the only decent free agents who are realistic.

Cheers for the background! really Interesting!

i didn’t know of the brothers in the NL but I did back them after their successes that year, when they were in League Two the year they went up.

They had been strong on xG but needed more goalscoring prowess, so after they signed John Akinde from Barnet I had a good wack on 9/1 for promotion.

Wasn’t Lee Frecklington there, too, commanding in CM with Michael O’Connor, his former Rotherham teammate?

Think a young Harry Toffolo was there then before moving up the pyramid, while they loaned Shay McCartan from us. He had cost £200k from but Accrington hadn’t cut it in L1.

Cowley had taken them to the FA cup quarters I think, hadn’t he, and they did well in the checkatrade trophy under him too. He certainly knows what it takes to succeed in L2.

if he is appointed he’d get my backing.

If we’re giving up on the season when two thirds of it is left, what’s the point in going?

give your heads a shake, people.

it’s time we shook ourselves from this malaise and being content with being shit.

we are Bradford City, the biggest club in the division, and anything less than a promotion push isn’t acceptable given our budget, fanbase and quality in the squad.

fitness, organisation and motivation are the qualities we need to instill in the lads - all are not dependent on needing a January transfer window (do you think Cambridge, Morecambe or Stevenage whinged about squad quality like our fans do?).

let’s stop being content with being shit and pull our god damn fingers out. From top to bottom - go for it.

With 93 points still to play for, we are definitely going up as champions on 100 points.

    Stockport
    Notts County
    Wrexham
    Mk Dons
    Mansfield
    Accrington
    Morecambe

So shameful that all these teams have either more money available ,recognised formations or better players or managers who know how to win promotion compared to our team of dross, without a leader with promotion credentials, and a budget put together on the back of season ticket sales.

I’m not giving up on season and I hope the club isn’t and the new man is told that promotion is a must this season.

Unless you're actually related to the Cowleys or have a real vested interest (such as a bet) this infatuation with a club you don't support taking them on is getting a bit weird m8.

Don’t appreciate the sarcasm. You are as funny as AIDS.

do you not look around the stadium on match days like Saturday and think ‘League 2……how did it come to this’? Many rival fans do, but our fans have become numb with disappointment and just take it.

I just don't see the requisite quality in the squad.

We have a squad that is lopsided, beefed out with filler material (Tulloch, Afoka, Tomlinson -wtf was the point in signing him?!) and players who simply aren't good enough - Ridehalgh, Taylor, Osadebe, Doyle, Derbyshire, Kelly. Could argue Smith too but that may be early. Then we have players we never see - Oliver.

I don't want to give up on this season but I really don't think we're good enough and haven't since the summer recruitment which to be honest, stank.

And it's embarrassing at this level. 15k season tickets, approximately 2k walk ups each game. And this is the best we can put together. It's criminal. We should be blowing the division away. Taylor at least got one thing right. We're the biggest team in the leagues, it's about time we started acting like it.
