That’s fair. I fully defend Bowyer and his style this year. He was brought in to a club in crisis and after relegation we need immediate improvement. He’s adopted the model he used successfully at Blackpool. Substance over style.

Long term a passing team like Luton have achieved double promotions, and would be great to watch. However, there are also teams like Forest Green who pass pass pass but struggle to score and direct footy under Parky almost brought us success.

By hook or by crook I’m happy if we win by whatever means.

That's all you'll get from him, just anger and empty baseless opinions.

You aren’t alone. My kids have lost interest and in my circle of friends, the ardent ST holders are losing enthusiasm and the flexi holders often prefer to sit in pub rather than move onto VP....the apathy is real. We just have to get up and repair the damage Edin inflicted.

Funny, my lad said that as well regarding the ghost of Rahic still haunting the place. We're fourth and in touching distance of the autos, we should be happy. But that hurt from the last two seasons is still there, there's a worry that we may have to endure this again next season and that comes across on the terraces. Add that to the league 2 effect and it drains you, this season can't finish quick enough for me, its not that enjoyable and a lot of that is nothing to do with Bowyer. That said i went to Carlisle and Macclesfield so in a perverse way i'm paying for the pain.

You're right, we should be happy sitting in fourth with a game in hand and one point of autos but yet the general feeling both at games and on here is completely joyless. For me personally, it's because every victory and even every draw seems like such hard work - it never feels like we win convincingly and I'm left walking away from games feeling deflated and unsatisfied when I should be feeling victorious. We are one point off the autos with a game in hand but sometimes it feels more like we are languishing in mid table with no hope of making the playoffs. It's weird.

Everyone in an ideal world wants to win the league in style.
I also think the exposure the public gets to high quality football from the top leagues and champions league on tv leads people into thinking thats how all football should be played.
I was flicking through some old video of bcafc in the 90's.
We were in the 3rd tier and the football was awful. The standard these days is much better.
Because we hardly saw live football we thought nothing of it and just got on with supporting our club to hopefully a win and promotion.

Said that a while ago re: the ghost of Rahic, particularly with the desire to carry on the managerial merry go round.

Changing now just continues Rahic's work, you don't sack the manager because the football isn't lovely. Especially in L2.

But, some are accustomed to change fir the sake of change now, which is such a shame after the Parky era.

And still do even with regards his time at City, the continual season on season improvements he brought to us fans, I'm not sure how they can be challenged but some do.

@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler posted IHO it could be 5 years I think he quoted to get Rahic's mess sorted out.

I suppose from a pragmatic point of view we are also 4th in the League Table, so the xG concept must actually reflect the reality of the situation. Agree the actual football is an exceptional hard watch, you don’t come away with the ‘feel good’ factor after a win, rather ‘mission accomplished’. I guess xG is a functional, objective tool, and doesn’t factor in elements which can make the game attractive to watch.

    Very true.

The other development these days is the widespread use of social media, where discontent is easily spread and can often build up a false feeling, due to the angriest voices shouting loudest. In the past we only really had forums to chat in public about our teams. If you wanted team news you phoned the Teamtalk telephone line or read teletext or the papers. Other than that all you'd do was discuss with your mates in person.

Nowaways social media is great for breaking stories and keeping up to date, quickly, but, at the same time, it has made Facebook and Twitter inhabitable after losses.

The only time we looked remotely dangerous today was after going to 442. Madness that the collective of the fans can spot the obvious and unnecessary tactical deficiencies imposed by the manager. Hes making this harder work and much, much more painful to watch than it needs to be.

he is and hopefully with a bit of a tweak in the window and Donaldson and Devitt back, we can get back to a more easy on the eye playing style soon.

End of the day we are 4th with a game in hand, 6 clear of dropping out of play off spots, very good defensive record and a very good home record (most points in the league). what do some fans want? Honestly?
we get an “entertaining” manager and it does not guarantee results

Given existing commitments my next game (thankfully) will be Grimsby at home, by then we will have signed two strikers a very creative midfielder, worked (yet again) on the pitch, so I look forward to battering the fishy finger brigade!

Bowyer: "There are no easy games, we don't just show up and win"

    - No, if we play 7 at the back, we make absolutely CERTAIN the games aren't easy.

Tell that to Crewe today GB - they 'just turned up' against Carlisle and hit four before half time. Maybe it was their "let's go at 'em" attitude?

I wonder why the 'there are no easy games' rule only applies to us? When we played Carlisle it wasn't an easy game but Crewe don't seem to have had to play by the same rules today. It really isn't fair.
