A viewer only sees what their mind interprets, and the only person to see a masterpiece is the creator of that art work.

Bully no but I would say this he wants the players to play his way as all managers do and some players then struggle to show what they can do in a different role. I know it's not professional football but when I ran a sunday league team a few years ago we had 2 players one a very good central defender and one cracking midfielder who could spread a ball about for fun, during the season we tried something different with the team and both players struggled for 4/5 games then we went back to the old way and they thrived again. We had another lad who during that period got 4 MOM yet didn't get one before or after that change, as they say football is a funny old game.

Interesting article in the T&A this morning, citing the return of injured players to boost Bowyers options over the hectic Christmas period, and it’s a really good point. The manager needs flexibility and depth given the number of fixtures over the next couple of weeks.

For example, he could go with a defensive 532 formation, get men behind the ball and go long to Vaughan or hit the channels for Oteh, relying on opposition mistakes to give us a goal.

Or he could go with a defensive 451 formation, get men behind the ball and go long to Vaughan or hit the channels for Oteh, relying on opposition mistakes to give us a goal.

Or maybe try something new, like a defensive 541 formation, get men behind the ball and go long to Vaughan or hit the channels for Oteh, relying on opposition mistakes to give us a goal.

    All teams have injuries.

Hate it when clubs use it as an excuse as it boils down to poor recruitment and letting certain players go.

We all knew Anderson and Devine were useless but still get a contract offer.

Having Doyle, Vaughan and Donaldson was always going to be better than loaning Oteh.

One thing Bowyer doesn't need is more tactical options. He confuses himself.

    He doesn't ? ............ Oh schitt ! :D

Even so, RT ........... Players often have 'an off day' - But surely for more than one to have an 'off month', something isn't right ?

You say "hate it when clubs use it as an excuse as it boils down to poor recruitment and letting certain players go".

Its not using it as an excuse its a fact
if they weren't injured they'd be playing instead of the players you mention.
The likes of Anderson & Devine were given contracts to fill midfield positions when we had injuries, it was never Bowyers intention for them to be regular starters, dont you underrstand that.

Nah !! He'll stick with his 'new' 8 - 0 - 2 formation, get men behind the ball and go long to ................................ ;)

I think its more the negative tactics than anything thats got certain backs up Ron, me included. i think Bullying is tied to the likes of Hopkin who rules with fear rather than encouragement. I read a good piece today regarding Klopps style of management,

    https://twitter.com/matthewsyed/status/1206841391772569600

Its Klopps take on management but it works and work very well.

Thus the very nature of this (my) thread Dave.
A manager will tell you to stop making excuses.......... whilst they have reasons ..........

Psychology is a strange but an effective science ........... Which is a lot to do with Bowyers studies between Blackpool and City, for those who don't remember. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. I for one was not impressed by his treatment of Cooke. You didn't need to hear anything, the looks said more than enough.
And as Vaughan trudges off each game .......... everyone can see by his face he's 'having the time of his life', lol !!

You do have to ask the question if watching Bradford City is as bad as some make out, (and no its not been great most of the season) why go and put yourself through the agony and then relive the experiance by reminding yourself of the terrible afternoon you just had by posting about it.

It's all about context. Our position is decent, football is efficient but the social aspect is still enjoyable in my world. For me, its a game of 4th tier football, bigger priorities in my world. And following a path of negativity each and every day, not for me.

I've 'seen' it in the players faces, and their 'low slung shoulders of burden' in game time, Dave.

Some Managers throw tea cups around the changing room, whilst some are more 'relaxed', yet use terms such as disappointed, let down or failed etc. These are terms which get inside your head, and have you feeling guilty ..... Which is actually a form of bullying.
I am in NO way implying I've heard any such conversations between Bowyer and any player/s, but I have seen this approach used many a time in my various working positions - And I DON'T like it.
