Hopkin or players?

If we resort to playing Wood on the left and Mellor on the right then thats me done. Might as well throw the towel in now.

 

There are lots of factors that can scupper transfers.I don't believe comments like Hopkin made pre window because unless there is some legal agreement in place you can't say we have players ready to sign.

He must learn to not give the impression things are in place,raising hopes of the fans and then circumstances maybe out of his control undo his promises.

 

this actually, quite surprisingly for you, is accurate...however - Hopkin had free reign in the market to get his own players in, and chose not to bring in any width. so its his fault.

as is Saturday, it was obviously an instruction - i just don't know why it was the instruction, and why it wasn't changed at all.

if so the players are at fault
If they deliberately didnt play the way he told them it questions has he lost the dressing room

Wood had bruises ribs and we were informed as a precaution put on the bench. Though there may have an element of truth - I think it was to accommodate Butterfield.
We still been effected by Rahic and his ill thought out / panic recruitment that has left us juggling with the playing budget. We are informed by others we were in for another forward and indeed made a bid that was rejected - tried to get Isgrove on loan from Barnsley but out bid by Portsmouth which would have helped . The Payne deal was a risk we have taken with some degree tying Mr Hopkins' hands - he has now to find alternative tactics, approaches to games get a decent CB with leadership and with heading ability (if any one is available who we can afford) drafted in - the young Leeds lad thrown in is probably not the answer at this time.

that's not true. we were 'forced' into making the same pointless, asking for trouble, hopeless long punt for 90 minutes?

it was an instruction, even if we were forced to make an early lofted ball a couple of times, we wouldn't just continue to do it when it patently wasn't effective.

 

I liked him where he was he gave a bit of protection down the left and a bit of width as well we missed that against Fleetwood

 

They are professional footballers most with a good deal of experience
If they couldnt see what was happening and play the way the vast majority of the crowd
knew how to play against them then they dont deserve paying

Has I said earlier if you snub the decent midfielders we have out of it such as Payne who didn’t have room to do anything then we have no width then long ball is the only option. Butterfield was getting deeper and deeper looking for space

 

Well as strange as it may seem there I agree with you as decent as they are Butterfield and Clarke shouldn’t have been our priority we need a physical centre forward a winger and a centre back and apart from Anderson who hasn’t even been in the squad we got none of them

 

that's just what I don't understand - we've gone out and signed ball playing footballers, such as Butterfield and Billy Clarke and then we've proceeded to play the hoof tactic to completely nullify them. bizarre.

 

I think we just panic at the back and rather than risk losing it in our own half just hoof it
