Although I agree with what Hopkin said I think it’s naive to publicly state that he hopes for 5 new faces in the team on New Years Day.
That tells the current players that 50% of them don’t have a future here and so why should they bother even trying until then.

Don't forget, good managers generally only produce positive results for a limited amount of time, so you have to factor that in. Good players + good manager + good timing
