Sounds like he's getting it in early before we get beat Saturday, although I do agree with him.

Sounds like to me that we are at least looking for two wingers and a target man up front to compliment Doyle.

    Well done Hopkin!

We've heard all the guff in the past about being better prepared for the transfer window. Hopkin's latest comment doesn't suggest that we are any better prepared now than we were this time last season.

I read somewhere in the last 48hrs or so of one EFL club (I don't recall who it was) who has already agreed terms with two new players and their current club and who are training with them in readiness for their transfer to take effect on Jan 1st. Given our own predicament, improving the squad needs to happen sooner rather than later. We could learn from how others are better organised than us.

Sounds to me like its the end of Edin's totalitarian rule - wouldn't have thought this type of interview would have been sanctioned a few months ago.

Well done to that man for coming out and saying what the other managers this year couldn't/or wouldn't.

After watching the team it's as obvious as saying waters wet like, but at least it's out there from the main professional at the club.

    Excuses.

    Needs results now.

We all know the recruitment has been poor.

However, let's face facts. Hopkin's results have been shocking.

Come the transfer window we could be down, all efforts need to be done coaching the players you have now and getting better results.

I totally agree with DH's comments.

However, due to the critical situation at the club, I'm yet to get a better understanding of how his mind works in dealing with players.
He's openly criticised his squad, he has also praised and defended them. How much this is a deliberate method of his to motivate his squad, I don't know. Or how much is true of his feelings at post match interview.

I feel today's article is a honest one, wearing his heart on his shirt he's basically telling us there's players here that are not what he wants. There's almost a feel of he's given up on several members of the squad, they must know who they are.
The door won't be shut, but the ball will be 100% in the players court now to self-motivate and adapt, letting DH know they want to be part of the great escape.

I doubt you'll see much (if anything) of Reeves, Jones and Scannell again.
    McCarten will be sold.
The play-off finalist Bradford City had a weak underbelly, but it's spine was strong, the current squad hasn't even a spine, to have any chance, that needs addressing immediately that window opens.
A few seasoned battlers and warriors in the DH mould need to be brought in for that 20th place scramble, they'll be no Marquee's on the shortlist.
The club at this moment can neither attract them nor needs them.

DH is the last bullet in the chamber, it's our last shot, he fails, we're in league two, debating his managerial abilities may as well wait until Summer. If we do hit 20th spot, it'll compare with the open top bus ride Mr Richmond organised for Jagger and co haha

Hopefully it's a sign that it's the end of Edin's association with the club.

Maybe the fly by bannner should say Auf weidersehen Edin.

This is exactly how PP worked when he came im, basically told the dead wood like Branston they weren't good enough and made them train away from the 1st team, only difference is he had the load window to help him

I can't see any negatives with regards Edin not being at our club.

Don't players have to be signed the day before the match to be able to play in that match? If so to be able to play on 1st January would mean signing on 31st December but the window doesn't open till midnight on 31st.
