Each time we re-started the game from kick off last night, we played it long and never won an header.
Its okay blaming the players and saying they aren't yours but you've had time to select your best team, best formation and sort your tactics out. I can't see any improvement since he came in, DH also doesn't have no plan B. Why didn't he put Jones, Ball, Gibson on when it was 2-1? Why wait so long? We are fighting for survival.

In the bigger picture, its obviously down to Edin, But some blame needs to go to the head coach over the recent weeks and poor performances. Can't be difficult to put holding midfielders in a side which sit and protect the back four. It's not difficult to play with wingers neither is it? If he wants to play direct, then use wingers, get some crosses in the box etc.

Why does he persist on putting Payne out wide? He needs to be central to be effective, he is the only player who can create something. God knows whats happened to McGowan, He's dropped down incredibly quick. I'm not sure where we really go from here to be honest. Bottom of the league with 3 wins all season - it's been a disaster.

 

I am not so sure, Grayson came in bulling himself up.............and flopped, so I really don't think the finger is pointing at Hopkin. Might not get a "big" L1/2 club but he'll get offers IMO because, going back months...it's a garbage squad that can only produce garbage teams playing in a garbage kit.

I don't agree with the long ball comments either, the reason for that is often the opposition, you can train all week on not playing a single long ball but when the game kicks off and you are playing a better team that knows what they are doing, it becomes your only option.

 

Listening to Radio Leeds last night before kick off and they were talking about needing 7 or 8 players to be giving it 70, 80 or 90% week in week out and it was at that moment I realised just how bad things have become. We should be demanding 11 players give 100% every week but no, we are so dire that the new bench mark appears to be 70% effort from two thirds of the team. Unbelievable.

 

I get your point but I would keep the kids in quarantine until the place has been fumigated. Don't want them infected.

As much as it pains me to see the long ball it's because this squad Hopkin has inherited can't pass through midfield. Never seen a team as bad as this in all my time watching City and Hopkin has to work with it the poor bugger.
This club will go down this season no two ways about it, more worrying is how will next season pan out if rahic doesn't sell. The cupboard is bare and David is robbing Peter to pay Paul. Desperate times.

 

If Parky was in this situation, he would make sure we are hard to beat. Lets start with draws, put five across the back, anything to stop the rot. When we attack that's when we look most likely to concede on the counter.

 

At this moment, I wouldn't feel confident we could get a point with 10 at the back never mind 5.

Parky would do what he did when he saved us from relegation when he came in, 2 banks of four well drilled and start with clean sheets and build from that, It is what Hopkin should learn from

 

I don't think the players we have are capable of being well drilled as a unit. Plus, they are now playing better teams every match that can exploit this.

 

I remember all this being said of Parky, after he took over from Jacko.

Recruitment is key. Our last three windows have been a shambles and that is why we're bottom of the league.

Getting tired of people saying it's not Hopkins fault, well I think he is partly to blame at the moment constantly playing certain individuals and tactics which a blind man can see isn't working.

He's got no other option than to play the one's he is playing.

The rest are even worse.

 

The bench last night was abysmal.

We need to get used to the fact this team is appalling, because we're trying to place blame on tactics and selection when I doubt any combination would provide a significant improvement.

The concern is Hopkin dropped the big one when he failed to surround himself with coaches he trusted.

Not sure he can recover from the malaise embodied by Rahic Drury and Abbott.
