Hopkin Interview

Please do not get your hopes up for January. I will be amazed if any meaningful players will be signed. I agree about the backroom staff, but my guessing as to why they are not here, is it will cost money and we don’t have any.

 

This is the question no-one really wants to address: What if there's no money available for players in January? Surely, SURELY Hopkin would have pretty much got that set in stone before he took the job? That's the only thing that is keeping me going. Only problem is, he probably massively underestimated the amount he asked for when he took the job on

 

I am prepared for no signings or anything like what we need. The silence from the owners is particularly deafening.

 

We need a hypnotist to try convince the players they're good footballers.....

 

What if he's been told that if you get rid of Abbot and Drury, you'll blow your budget in severance payments? Maybe that's why they're still around.

R & R really are drinking in the last chance saloon. They have the funds to spend in January and they will have to spend big time if we are to have even the faintest sniff of surviving in this league this season.

Regardless of their "sustainable" live within our means philosophy, that will need to go out of the window.

If they are seen to penny pinch in January, regardless of circumstances they will lose any small level of support that may still remain at that point.

 

I agree but surely he knew this when he took on the job.

 

The Jan window may be perceived as being our only hope of a revival but if we carry on as we are till then who will want to sign for a club destined for relegation with a toxic environment to boot?

 

There may be signings but one out and one in. Who’s going to take our lot? Expect some loans from a couple of “linked” premiership clubs

Our Club is like one of those Horror movies, where no matter who, or what type of Family occupy the house, the place will always be haunted. And Edin Rahic is the Real Estate guy selling it up, as anything but the Hotel California, which it is.

 

Despite inheriting a shockingly poor squad, I have no faith whatsoever in Hopkin.
He blames everyone else but himself after each game, he keeps saying 'unacceptable' after every game, but nothing changes
He even has a worse record than Collins with this squad.

The only way we will stop our nosedive to non league football is new owners and their own manager.

What else can he say or do?

We need to start believing what we’re seeing. The players just aren’t good enough, skilfully or mentally. You might get away with 1 or 2 slackers but not the 7 or 8 we see, week in, week out.

As the saying goes “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink”.

Major investment is required, new coaches and backroom team, strong experienced professionals and characters, like the ones we witnessed in the legends squad.

 

Would be interesting to hear Abbott give the next post match interview.

He can start by dropping one of the worst defenders I've ever seen at VP in NKP, I would rather play the kid Staunton. Nobody on our books can be any worse than NKP.
I'm afraid Hopkin is sounding more like a poor man's Grayson every passing week, he is almost as much out of his depth than Collins, managing/coaching at this level
I doubt his stay as manager will be as long as even his playing stint here, and just as unsuccessful.

Don't know what the answer is though under the clowns running the show. New owners and staff to start all over again is urgently required somehow
