That will be good news. Every time I've seen him, he's been a solid 6 out of 10 at the very least

Underrated player is Pritchard. Has a decent goal/assist record as well.

I'll go to the game hoping for a good performance against a lower team. Couple of early goals and a 3-0 win will be great. Now if its only a win by one goal and not a very good game I'll still take the three points we need to get out of this dam league .

One of Bowyer's better decisions moving him infield too.

technically one of our best players, we've missed him recently, moves the ball a lot quicker than others and is more direct, instead of a crab footballer.

Who decided he was a winger? Plays nothing like one.

I wouldn't go as far as stating the vast majority, I think it is fairly evenly split although at the moment although probably slightly more in favour of not happy but accepting. Lazy journalism I know but you wouldn't get the T&A running 'bring back McCall' stories with a vast majority of the fan base and therefore their readers in the not happy but accepting camp.

Remember this is a hypothetical question and of course I would never want City to lose any game, all I am saying is a 1-0 victory, if achieved by way of our recent performances, will do pretty much nothing to change the opinions of either side of the fan base. It could potentially push a few of the 'not happy but accepting' category over the edge though.

The crux of my argument is we need to see a huge improvement on the pitch to give fans confidence in the team going forward. The defensive approach has limited the opposition chances but not totally restricted them, my fear is we look incapable of bouncing back to a set back so if our luck turns and these chances begin to get taken then the losses will mount up.. I accept the same could apply at the other end of the pitch but realistically you cannot expect to score consistently with 1-2 shots on target in a match.

He’s just about the only midfield player we have who can score. The likes of Reeves, Cooke, Palmer , Taylor never look like scoring and that’s our main problem , the team just don’t have enough goals in them. Doyle excepted of course but there all for Swindon.

A little bit of useless information but Scunthorpe have scored in their last 10 away games in all competitions winning 5 of their last 6 away, keeping 4 clean sheets from those 6 games....

Scunny suffering from the ‘McCall Effect’. Team has upward swing for a short while followed by slide downwards which takes at least two seasons to sort out.

Strange how the view of things differs depending on who is at the helm.

A couple of seasons ago when we were in a similar position and getting undeserved results in a similar way from similar, underwhelming, performances the manager at the time (McCall) was hailed as a tactical, motivational, genius.

But Bowyer is met with derision and ‘Sack the manager’ threads.

    Strange that init?

Can't believe you're even comparing the standard of football :joy::joy: Even a poor McCall side moved the ball well and the goals kept coming. A poor McCall side produces naivety and a soft under belly. The standard of football couldn't be further from Bowyer Ball. McCall didn't get backed financially unlike Bowyer either. He had to work with what Rahic provided him. Bowyer has brought all these players in himself and is producing the worst stuff I've seen in my 25 years of supporting.

Agree about Pritchard, at least he gets forward. I don't really like him on the wing though. Got to admit I don't know much about Devitt. I'm guessing he's an attacking mid also, however his goalscoring record is not that great.

Was just thinking about some of the midfield we've had on loan - Cullen, Evans, Furman - all decent players who put in great shifts. Wish we could turn one of our current loanees into that type of player. Maybe Devitt is the one.

He was a winger his whole career until he joined Blackpool, as a winger he got 14 goals and 12 assists for Maidenhead 2 seasons ago. Not saying he hasn't done well in the middle but clearly he can play on the wing. If we are to play 442 i can see him doing well in LM in a similar way to how McCall played Law. He seems very comfortable on the ball and has knack for getting into the box. Just hope that this niggling back problem that keeps cropping up can stay away for the rest of the season, if it can i see no reason why he can't end the season on 7+ goals
