Over all yesterday we were sh!t.

So much wrong with that performance.

The manager needs a hard look at himself for that.

I think people are going to have to change their outlook as to how they think City should play. Morecambe had the lowest possession stats in the whole Division last season! Adams is a “hang in there and get it forward as quickly as possible” manager.

He was terrible left FCD exposed numerous times by not tracking back as per usual

 

I doubt we’ll come up against many teams playing 3-4-3 in this league, so for me we did well considering 2 of our 3 first choice CM’s we’re out. Regarding Cook, I think he’s struggling for form and might be lucky to keep his place when Lavery gets up to speed. We need that 3rd striker to push both current strikers. If we can get a goal scoring 10 or poacher, we could really take the sting out of games and run out comfortable winners with the number of chances we’re creating. That said, it’s one of the hardest positions to fill.

 

I think after taking everything in to account yesterdays performance typified the way we will play going forward.
The big occasion was testing for this new group of players for sure and at times I felt we tended to overplay things when in possession.
Having been at Exeter and Forest that was by far the least impressive performance but the team as only just started its journey.
Derek Adam's teams don't tend to play a high possession game but it's clear it's what you do with the ball when you've got it that counts.
If that's his philosophy to winning football games then so be it.

Has Cook put some timber on? Not sure if it was just seeming him in action in real life or if he has expanded.

Cook won quite a few headers and was a constant threat as thier centre half had to mark him leaving space for Angol. The ref was trying to show he was not influenced by the crowd so gave very few free kicks to us and Cook should have had half a dozen free kicks the way he was man handled off the ball.would be interested to see how many yards he covered yesterday.

I thought he put a good shift in and i bet he's got the bruises to prove it,he was fouled at almost every challenge

 

It worked for us yesterday with a weakened team. We should have won that game 4.1 yesterday with the chances we created.

How many shots did Oldham actually have whilst they were battering us? I can recall maybe 3.

Good times are coming.

Like I and others have said he was literally being fouled the whole game so that would explain why he was less influential than he normally is. A decent ref would have booked their CH in the first half.

 

Their c/half is excellent at what he does to be fair. He was the same last season. Wily character!

Did you also notice him and several other players were harassing the ref at every call
