So Wood has been great on the wing. Performed really well. His reward is being pushed back into defence.

Because like most lower league managers (David Hopkin for one) they think they have something to prove. A consistent winning formula and wins does nothing for their ego. They have to try and be clever and change things so they can take FULL credit.

The very simple solution today was stick with the 4-4-2 and bring in Longbridge at LB or play Wood there and Gibson at LM.

It is absolutely baffling. Lets hope it works and we get the 3pts but if we don't then Bowyer has dropped another clanger.

 

This has got to be absolute last chance salon for Akpan, expect crowd to get on his back if he doesn’t turn up today.

 

Only we could have Donaldson and Vaughan and not have one creative player anywhere near them

Bowyers certainly not affraid of doing it his way, looking at that it suggest Scannell still can't do 90 minutes yet, I'd have prefered he started but not a bad sub to have on the bench.
He looks like he has faith in young Devine ans Gibson, not sure about Akpan but if he's not up for it there are 2 on the bench who will be biting at the bit to get on, Paudie must be a little frustrated but you can't blame Bowyer for keeping the same back 4 with the inclusion of Wood instead of Henley.
Good starting 11 and looking far stronger on the bench.

@Meltham Massive says last chance for Akpan, I wonder if it is Bowyer's thinking to give him a last "shop window" chance to help him possibly get a move out.

 

Don’t blame him with changing things we were terrible against a poor Stevenage team regardless of results, as we saw a few years ago you can’t scrape results all season we need to improve.

Just wish Akpan wasn’t in the team, fine with the rest.

 

4-3-3 was always how GB wanted to play.
Expect Devitt on for Gibson and Cooke for Devine around the 65th minute mark

I would hope not, were at home we need to win for me it's not a time to be putting someone you want out in the shop window.

 

Just for clarity for those saying why are we changing from 4-4-2 when we won - we only played 4-4-2 until Henley went off.

Clearly there's no one fit enough or that Bowyer trusts enough to play left back so that's Wood's fate which is a shame if it means he getsess opportunities to cross the ball.

 

Can't see how we're going to get forward with that midfield three though.

It's going to be more hoof I'm afraid.

 

Unhappy with this line up - Akpan shouldn't even be on the bench - Wood cannot defend and should not now be asked to - Gibson does not deserve to start - 4 3 3 is not required.

This needs to pay off for Bowyer.

Hopefully we get the win and move forward.
