In this division i'd say yes. Yesterday Exeter were technically the better side with their passing and moving while possession, our success came from our defensive attitude and battling mentality. We played Vale of the Park the other week and got knack all for it. Same with the Forest Green game.

 

Think I'll always have a soft spot for Exeter. Purely because their complete and utter capitulation in 2013 opened the door for us to sneak into 7th place when it seemed like we'd messed it up!

 

Although Cooke's been a great addition, I'd like to see us get shut of Anderson and bring in a proper dedicated defensive midfielder in January.

 

I believe he wasn’t given much choice. But yes except for a small bit near the corner flag at the corner stand, the pitch is the best I’ve ever seen it. I think it’ll be good throughout the season as it was last year.

 

I'm sure parker has reported that stefan watches all the games. Presumably through ifollow.

 

I know he watches the games now as @bantam2708 says it's more than likely on Ifollow.

The window doesn't open until Jan and I doubt he was there to discuss budgets when we need to get November out of the way first and see where we are at with injuries etc.

He should be at the games more.

Interesting. From my seat in C Block, main stand it looked a stonewall red card at the time. Connolly was outpacing the defender and was held back. I felt he would have got clear and got a shot on goal. But looking at the highlights video, taken from the opposite side, it looks less clear cut. Connolly has more work to do to get a clear route to goal and you can't see if there is another defender covering. If there was then that would explain the rescinding.

 

@Allotment Bantam just for clarity, my comment about the red card for the tackle on Woods was very much tongue in cheek. I know you know that, as for the red for the Connolly foul, from the tv view, I reckon any club would have appealed against it. I would have been annoyed if it had been one of ours getting a red for that.

 

Their manager Matt Taylor only lasted a couple of matches as a City player despite signing a contract in 2013.

 

Good side that have been in this league a while now so know what it's all about. Have to win though and i think we can!! Not a big believer in having gaps like we had over the weekend helps the side, but i think with our injury crisis it might have been a blessing in this case. We should start at 1000mph in theory!

 

It’ll be a tight affair. As mentioned, Exeter have been in this league a while and have flirted with promotion for a few season’s, without quite showing enough quality to get them over the promotion line.

I rated Nicky Law highly when he was here - during both stints for the club. Six goals and 3 assists for him so far this season; not to mention the 10 goals and 5 assists last season for Exeter. He evidently makes them tick - very much like Pritchard in our case.

I hope to see Pritchard and Connolly back involved.

That's our best team with who we have fit imo.

 

As Wrose bantam says, they like every other team that visit VP, would take a point before kick off.
All the more important then that we start every game in top gear and score first, so teams can not just sit deep and defend.

 

Oh the near 5/2 on Exeter is BIG. Having some of that.

 

Somebody clatter Law early on and he'll do nowt for the rest of the game.

 

Law is a busy player. Do you think Akpan (or, eek, Devine) can contain him?
Apparently Pritchard and Connelly are back,so I don't think we'll be keeping the ball in the middle much anyway.
