If only there were some sort of public service authority who had a civic responsibility for such things.....

There is a weather warning for heavy snow in the region from midnight to 6pm tomorrow-seeing as its really icy now and further snow fall very likely then the situation around VP could be quite bad but improving but too late for the game .

The argument must be that absolutely no one should travel to work in any job in Bradford tomorrow, because of the conditions of the roads and pavements!
There must be a Council meeting at the moment ordering everyone to stay at home.
    Do not leave your home.
Anyone who chooses not to go to work (often in areas far more removed from main roads), can say that they went off the advice of these experts.
Gob smacked that the ground staff and external contractors operating the machinery managed to get to Valley Parade.
The most absurd, ill judged, decision I have seen for a very long time.

It’s above freezing from 9.00 pm tonight. Snow stops according to the BBC around 6 hours before the kick off.

what about the ambulance, paramedics, St. John's staff that must to be there in accordance to meet the criteria for the match to go ahead.. if the roads are unsafe and you can't get medical support there and guarantee that they'll have safe passage too and from the stadium if someone was required to go to hospital then the game has to be called off.

What worries me with these postponements that the teams below us are catching us up.

Just hope the month rest we will be fully charged for our next game.

What was the point to all the time and effort put in to clearing the pitch when it was all dependant on the roads outside? Didn't someone bother to check this part out before starting clearing the pitch?

The main roads are completely fine. I drove past VP today and manningham Lane and midland Road was clear.

but not Valley Parade itself or the surrounding inclined roads. do we expect an ambulance to park on Manningham Lane or Midland Road and if the person needing transporting to hospital, they'll be carried down the road and stretchered on to it?

I expect someone had the brains to put some rock salt or grit down. Not hard with a few club staff.

Pathetic decision. No 'can do' attitude in sight.

I guess the ground staff can only do what they can. 3 miles from Manningham and roads and pavements just about impassable - decision would have been imperative tonight, and more snow / ice forecast

I think with the improved weather between now and tomorrow afternoon, most of what is there will be gone.

Theres a simple answer to that one, get the roads clear which neccestitate the very slim off chance that the assistance of an ambulance may be needed. we're in the 21st century, it ain't that hard to clear a couple of roads.

but there are mixed forecasts - some say worse, some say in improvement. the games off, it's not going to change and there are worse things going on in the world right now. time to move on.
