Utter horsecrap.

They need to buck up their ideas fast and start organising these overdue games fast.

 

surely Manningham Lane is ok so it’s just Valley Parade that needs clearing. It’s only the away coach that needs to get to the ground. Weird decision.

 

Both clubs have a free slot Tuesday evening, the weather from Saturday to Tuesday is mild.... seems like a no brainer.

EDIT- Ignore me, Crawley have a game Tuesday.

 

Why can’t they grit tonight ffs.

Scunthorpe are free so we could always get that game on.

 

They'll start to begin considering when to proceed with rearranging postponed fixtures very soon, don't you worry.

 

On the face of it, this seems an astonishing decision. There are no spectators and surely a safe path for vehicles from Manningham Lane could have been created by lunchtime tomorrow when it will be much warmer anyhow.
It will be interesting to see how many other games in the snow zone are postponed for the same reason.

 

Unsafe for who ? Someone needs to get a gritter down Valley Parade.

Massively disappointing but whilst there's no fans there is still a number of people who have to be at VP on a matchday during the current pandemic.
They're still as much at risk of the ice and snow and ice as fans.
Maybe it's for this reason that game is off?

 

You've got to wonder if we wanted this game on, after they pumped our new mates last week they'd have been on a massive high.

 

The game might be off but once again Mick Doyle and is team have done a sterling job getting the pitch playable.
Fantastic effort shame the council didn't help but there again it's not the first time and it won't be the last,we aren't a priority obviously in the grand scheme of things.

 

How do you make that out when the referee said the ground staff had done a magnificent job in getting the pitch playable

 

Look I believe the club would have tried, and done a good job trying to get it on. Under normal times people would have gone down to help.

Shame it's off but right call to call it off early.

 

So who exactly has decided to call the game off? Sounds like it wasn't the ref, he admitted he isn't a meteorologist or an expert on the situation outside the ground.
There is no snow or freezing temperatures forecast from now until kick off. I can understand how it might be a bit sketchy today still, it is where I live, but by tomorrow morning it will be all cleared up and with a bit of grit absolutely fine. As mentioned Midland Rd and Manningham Lane must be completely safe already and the stadium can be accessed from there.

Waste of all the hard work the groundstaff have done. Get the game on FFS

 

If we were really commited to getting this game we could have done something outside the ground too. Plenty of other businesses take action to ensure their sites are safely accessible in such situations.

Pretty clear we've made the choice not to.
