    If Threlkeld could be as productive as Ridehalgh we'd have two strong full backs. Threlkeld seems to be lacking confidence to me.

    Need another central forward on. Vernam, Crankshaw even Ridehalgh look like creating something but look up and there's only Cook in the middle.

    Massively frustrating. No arguments with the effort of the players today, we created plenty. But we're already seeing our acchiles heels - we're wasteful in front of goal and flaky at the back

    Well, we desperately needed another body up top to help Cook but in getting one on we took off the only player who seemed capable of creating a chance in Vernam. Taking him off also resulted in Ridehalgh becoming less effective and Gilliead and Cooke just clogging up the centre of the pitch. Crankshaw added little. Very disappointing decisions by the manager. His subs resulted in us having a lower quality of chances.

    Well done Walsall. Defended stoutly.
