Jonny Depp has beaten more than DMH.

 

Agree, yet Donaldson and Clarke had big chances to make it 4 and 5. Need to be more clinical against better teams, sadly I’m not sure our front line is capable.

I really hope the second half was just them taking their foot off the pedal. I don't think I've seen a solid full 90 minutes this season yet. Patchy performances, with them ranging from bang average to an absolute sh*t show have been the norm.

I think they're still about half a team away from even challenging for the play offs. A defender that can organise, a midfield enforcer, 1/2 players with genuine pace and a proper goal scorer. Even the latter in the present team might see a significant improvement in results, because Watt's deliveries are the best thing about that team at the moment.

We needed that win. Second half performance was a concern though. Southend were the better team.

Still, having seen Southend I'm less worried about relegation, as one of those spots is taken.

a good result and gives us a platform to build on.. evidently we'll come up against better teams for the majority of the season so we still need to improve but you can only beat what's infront of you. nobody had a fantastic performance but steady 7s across the bored. if there were a few concerns they'd be:

(1) we stopped playing in the second half and doing the things we did well in the first. we still haven't really put in a full 90mins this season.
(2) still look poor in the final third creativity and decision making. need to work the opposition 'keeper better.
(3) need to take advantage of the amount of set pieces we have.
(4) still allowing sides to have plenty of opportunities at our goal.

all in all, a welcome three points - a good first half display. plenty to build on.

 

Clarkes legs had gone and he was hiding in midfield and Cooke dropped a little to cover, Plus they looked fitter in second half

 

I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say they were the better team but credit to them for not giving up. We never really looked in any danger but it is a concern that we just don't seem capable of playing really well for more than 45 minutes in any game.

 

Thought Donaldson was born on Woodside, but according to his birth certificate it was offside

 

Please Stuart no messing about for Saturday the strongest starting 11 available, lets continue to get positive results and plenty of goals.

 

Well for me at least that was a stark contrast to the last match. Thought we played well in the 1st and took our foot of the gas in the second and let them into it a bit. Clearly they aren't great and we'll face tougher opponents but they will have come thinking they could get a result and it was good to see us put them to bed.

Quite impressed with Watt again today, calm and composed on the ball in the middle and can pick a good pass we might just have a really exciting young player on our hands there. Wish we could sign Hossanah on a perm too he'd be an excellent addition to the club.

MOM for me was Paudie but very close between him and Watt. Cooke and Pritchard had a decent games for me and Billy's 1st half performance was excellent.

Donaldson needs to work on the off side thing it's very frustrating and DMH looks to be coming up short, looks panicked on the ball and struggles to keep control. Very surprised to not see Samuel's come on even earlier than when Donaldson came off think that would have suited him tonight.

Good confidence builder hopefully more of the same against Tonbridge and who knows we might start to actually believe we can play a bit at this level.

I agree with you in principle but there were a fair few players that took knocks tonight. I think there might be some forced changes or precautionary changes on Saturday.

 

Yes I was meaning our strongest fit 11, no trying different stuff out on the day these guys are there for the taking and we have to be professional on Saturday.

 

Got to feel for him, didn't train properly all week.
