Nice and honest assessment of where they want to take the club. Sounds like they have some real plans in place for the summer recruitment. I wouldn't be surprised if a few contracted players are moved on as well.

Simple answer - NO!

Excited is probably a tad extreme but we are not going into the summer without a plan in place. I am optimistic that we will have a much more rounded squad for next season. Then who knows. T&S certainly seem to understand the game and achieved their first goal, which was safety, by a country mile.

Chopping and changing managers isn't the answer as we have seen, get a better group of players to work with.

Look at Parky, he was able, eventually, to get a team to play his way. Stuart inherited a decent team and nearly took us into the Championship. So to me its more about the players than the managers.

Turnbull seems to have the connections to make deals happen. Let's see what unfolds over the summer.

 

Parky had the experience to turn things around. Stuart had the experience of management too. We’re in a decline and they haven’t shown us anything over the last few months to suggest they’ve enough in their locker not only to arrest the slide, but turn us into a promotion winning side. We can probably assume they’ll set up as they are now. What if the next guy wants 4-4-2, we won’t have enough decent strikers to make it work, because you might get a couple in, but no way will we have 3 or 4 at start because there isn’t a place for them. Then it’ll be the January window to plug the gaps.

 

We can all hope. A worry I have is that in the last window, we signed 9 and only 1 of these has shown consistency. Another has shown promise but I think MT said he couldn't play at the moment because of an asthma problem. I know Chris Froome has done well with asthma but it can be very serious during exertion.

And yet Hornby was our man of the match.

 

I also think back to Jewell and Kamara-both rookie managers. Both got their teams playing to their style and it was enjoyable to watch.

I think they deserve a shot with their own team. Someday we have to trust in rookies and in the past apart from one notable recent failure (Collins) we have a good track record.

Unfortunately I think Sparks will fold and we will be back on the merry go round. Somebody like Ritchie Wellens who failed to win a match in his last 8 at moneybags Salford before getting the sack.

 

Park, you can argue with me on any subject you want but not asthma, believe me me, I know more about it than you. It can be controlled, but only to a certain level. As far as Nobby is concerned, fitness levels and the intensity of the game are now completely different to 50 years ago.

 

Well the club medical staff knew about it before he signed and he passed a medical so they must know what they are doing incidentally David Beckham and Mo Farah have had asthma

No, lets not wait and see what unfolds over the summer, let's have a strong message from the men in charge NOW that promotion is the target for next season and anything less then that will be seen as a failure. That's the truth so let's hear them say it. If they don't have the conviction and belief that they can deliver what every man and his dog is saying has to happen, why should we have any faith than they can?

 

They have already said it on plenty of occasions and they must know that the pressure is on whoever is in charge

 

Sparks has said it, I haven't heard T&S say it - please correct me if I'm mistaken.

 

I think it was mentioned in the post match interview yesterday by Sellars but I could be mistaken.
