We are 20th in the bottom league because as Ryan Sparks says we have managed the money badly with poor recruitment as I say above we have been at least twice in a position to reach the championship been in a major cup final promotion and five years of progression all with affordable football and we can do that again

TOTAL CHANGE OF DIRECTION @Park bantam@Park bantam

You used supermarkets as your analogy, now you have changed directions. That isn't defending your point nor shining credence on yourself.

But I'll give you one thing in 'defending' the club.... You've just pointed out how wasteful and poor in recruiting the club has been. Maybe without realising it, a price increase in ST's may not be a good idea?
Until we see Sparks and the whole structure work and improve together, Sparks words have little credence either. I'll be more than happy for him (and others) to prove me wrong, mind.

We need to move forwards, not looking to the past.

yep that is the problem when so many teams are trying to arrange postponed games it is a matter of finding a date when both are free unless the league take over the reorganising and basically reschedule rest of season

No change of direction at all in fact you can add pound and charity shops the only outlets thriving at the moment. However not using the resources well is true whether you are overcharging which the majority of football clubs do for their product or charge affordable prices that we do

Some impressive trading there, just over the Christmas period.

Anyhow, we've both gone collectively on a tangent.

I agree, but in sheer desperation we dropped the price. But like any commodity, the price could and should go back up. £6.50 isn't affordable football, its business suicide in any industry where the next cheapest tickets in the division are twice the price.

We're not talking about this moment, this debate was had well before Covid. Theres a simple saying, If you want the nice things in lfie you have to pay a bit more. Me personally, i shop elsewhere to Aldi and Lidl as i like a bit more quality in what i buy.

The comparison between lower league football and supermarkets is an interesting one. The latter is incredibly competitive not just on price but on quality and customer service. The Aldis and Lidls are known for their cheap prices but they go hand-in-hand with lower customer service and arguably lower product quality or certainly less choice. M&S and Waitrose are at the other end of the scale with a reputation for better quality food and customer service but with a higher price tag. Shoppers are rightly entitled to make a choice from the various alternatives which fits their preferences.

The comparison with lower league football for some fans is that they expect to pay Aldi prices for M&S customer service and Waitrose product quality. And that combination isn't on offer. If we all want better quality on the pitch and better infrastructure quality, somebody has to pay for it and that should be the customer or the fans as we choose to call them.

The whole point on this if everything is done right we have shown in the fairly recent past that we can do well and progress without fleecing fans that many clubs do.

Who’s suggesting anything about fleecing fans? We’re talking about a reasonably modest price increase to bring our ticket prices into line with market rate. Probably just below, but not miles below.
