I really don't get this dichotomy in people's views about Watt. Everyone agrees he gets caught in possession, often can't find the right pass, is poor in his distribution and thinking - and YET many think he's good enough to play in higher leagues! To play at a higher level these are vital assets - having a thinking game, having good distribution, creating good decisive moments, all things he patently doesn't have much of. I would love it if he came good for us but right now he continues to be a 5/10 passenger in most games.

 

Really? Same height as Kelleher.

 

Totally agree 1975citygent. Walker is dangerous, dragging defenders around, making space for other players, always relentlessly on the hunt, probing and attacking. Only one game, but he looked a different class.

 

But still don't get it Jon. Goals? Assists? MoM performances? There have been precious few from him in all the time he's been with us. He totally flatters to deceive. I would love for him to come good with us but the signs thus far have been fleeting and rare. Is it us? Have the managers and coaches just not got the best out of him? For me, he continues to be a total enigma. Everyone speaks so highly of him but I just don't see the proof.

 

He may well be on a few clubs wanted lists, but probably 4th,5th or 6th choice rather than 1st,2nd or 3rd. I guess whether he stays or goes will depend on whether those clubs are successful in landing their preferred choice or whether they have to look further down their lists. If that's the case, they may well decide to wait until the summer when he'll be a free agent, because I can't see him accepting a new deal here, if one is even offered.

 

As I posted the table doesn't lie, but more to the point when posters suggest its easy to beat 10 men the Sutton games suggests otherwise.

 

Just watched the goals again after Paudie’s tweet. Cook is facing camera in the celebrations and looks like he’s had more than a couple of tins of celebrations himself this Christmas. Ha ha. Lad.

 

Doesn't alter the fact that he cant seem to find his own players with a pass though does it ? If it's because he needs a rest then he's been tired for a very long time.

Too right, we've all seen enough football in many different guises to know that ten men teams are often much harder to beat than eleven because they rally round and put in more effort. Exactly as Sutton found with us. We can't put Salford losing down to ten men, but we can put it down to Boreya getting his tactics wrong after half time.

I thought Adams played a master stroke in waiting ten minutes to see if they changed at the start of the second half before bringing Cook on, and the players did the rest by getting the bit between their teeth and not giving up.

If they show that attitude for the rest of the season we will not be far away. Perhaps Adams should lighten up on the training and let them give that level of commitment during the match every week.

 

Because he's only 21 so there's plenty of time to develop the experience to complement his obvious technical talent

 

They didn’t beat us because they where crap .......... I know it’s difficult to break down 10 men but at least we basically battered Salford in the 2nd half did Sutton do that to us ?????? In fact I recall us missing a few chances to win the game .............. now don’t get me wrong the table doesn’t lie but if FGR are the best team out there then it just shows how poor this league really is

 

All about opinions, but talking about teams being crap I'd say FGR run them close if that's the case, for a team running away (so far) with the league I was disappointed with FGR performance.

 

Think that’s why so many fans are fed up they can see a huge opportunity to get out of this league but we just ain’t up to it least last season Bolton ( even though they didn’t win it ) looked half decent but I ain’t seen one team that have impressed me at all .......... even 2nd placed Tranmere only looked good because we’d already put in our routine 45 minute shift

 

What noise are those kids making between 9.48 and 10.07?

Totally agree. To me he looks like he needs a rest, 2-3 games on the bench will do him the world of good.

 

And I give you Gillead in defence......older, more experienced...few goals, few assists...

Watt made 4 or 5 great tackles or interceptions to break play up in the first 25 minutes....which no one ever notices...he tries TOO hard for me at times trying to make killer passes when there is sometimes a simple ball on...
