We were rightly talking about our lack of passion last week well there is one player who does show it and that is Paudie. Yes like most defenders or players at this level he has got a mistake in him but once again he showed what a wholehearted player he is

I know they went to ten men but we played with some swagger today.
The team proved they can pass a ball and put together some great build up play. We look a better team without O’Songo, I really don’t think he fits in the team. I think he can play his part but he should be a starter every game.
like I said, they had ten men and it’s hard to judge but it was positive. Let’s hope we can get a good striker in to make sure we don’t waste all the good build up.
Also think we need an upgrade on ridehalgh if our fullback is playing so high up the field. I didn’t feel confident with him up there. Often waisted the opportunity and then left the gap at the back.

Listen I have been very critical of Gilleads lack of end product despite his hard work but his assists at Barrow and again today and his overall performance deserves credit

    You know I meant Songo’o
I disagree about Ridehalgh, I don’t think he looked confident on the ball.

No it was a very even contest first half and the best player on the field scored but in contrast to the last home match where we were the best team second half with ten men we were totally on top with eleven. So yes the sending off changed the game because we made it that way.

No really. We started well and showed some
Attacking intent. We passed the ball instead of hitting it from back to front. we seriously need a central striker. There’s no point putting Angol there he’s decent playing along side but disappears when he is central.

He is not physical enough to play that role if we sign a new striker I would like him on the left where he has more room. Heard a rumour today that we are in for this player

Ridehalgh has been our most consistent performer this season. Hardly lacking confidence on the ball-far from it.

Good enough performance from that piss poor effort at Carlisle last week. Some positivity that the squad stood up today and put out a performance.

A mixed performance in terms of ability today but aptitude? Seedlings, but will they bear fruitation ...

Hard to judge the performance today.

Salford down to 10 and managed my Boring Bowyer.

However, character has to be praised for sure.

They are the difference between a cannon and a howitzer. Threlkeld’s seem to fly higher and the key velocity giving the throw ins some speed seems lacking.
Here is how it should be done.

That's rubbish, we didn't start well at all. It was a carry on from last week, the set up didn't suit us at all. Both Watt and Sutton struggled badly in a two man midfield meaning Vernam and Gilliead struggled to get the ball in good positions. Walker showed some nice touches but because of us struggling didn't see much of the ball. There was only one side going to score first half and Salford duly did after yet another error from Canavan. At one point he was going to pull him down but thought better of it. There's a reason we were booed off at half time, and to be fair it was justified. Second half we took advantage of Assantes sending off, Watt had no man marker and we started to move the ball around the space that was afforded. There's a reason the crowd got behind them second half, because they upped their game.
Football is a game of fine margins. Had we not lost Cook early at Carlisle and Songo'os goal rightly have stood we would have won. Today, if Assante doesn't have a brain fart we more than likely don't win.
The positive from today is Jamie Walker. The lad looks to have the quality this squad badly lacks. If we can find one or two more like him things might be looking up.

Enjoyed today after travelling to Carlisle last week i wasn't really looking forward to it, But fair play some real effort and endeavour.

Gilly was very good again today, paudie is a battler also thought watt has a good game.
Ridehalgh and vernam caused them allsorts of problems.

Walker looks a decent signing .

Good to seethe VP crowd on their feet and creating an atmosphere.

Continue with that effort and we might be OK.

Tickets bought for Dale next week

Adams said both Vernam and Walker were subbed as Walker had played little football and Vernam was returning from injury.

Based purely on his dismantling of us the other year but if he's anywhere near that level I'd take him in a heartbeat
