How can this be seen as an ‘interesting’ first half (i-follow commentary), it has been poor and we have been chasing the game!

They always have an option whereas we seem lost in the final third. We have to step up second half. The 4-2-3-1 is too defensive at home.

we’re shit. theres so many backward passes being made it’s unbelievable. You’d think we still have parky as manager and any minute now Hanson is gonna come on to win some of these hoofballs

We need more quality in a couple of positions but I think we also need to look at playing style and coaching. We're far too safe when we're in possession. I've just seen it again, ball comes to Wood on the left, no one within ten yards of him but instead of looking to go forward he immediately goes square and back to canavan.

Its poor. But worryingly, its becoming common.

Need to bring on Cook and leave Rowe on, we need two strikers up front

When we have the ball it's like we're playing 4-2-4 because all of Crankshaw/Evans/Rowe/Vernham are all attacking players. Even Sutton really, he tries to make forward runs. So that leaves Watt in the middle who plays predominantly facing our goal.

We don't have enough natural central midfielders who want the ball and look forward and up. We have too many attackers on the pitch. I just don't think we can play this formation with both Crankshaw and Vernham and Evans isnt the right player for the Central role.

I hope there's a stat for teams that pass forwards the least. It has to be us. Edge of the box on the final kick of the half and we boot it to the keeper...

Said it earlier, that was like watching a Bowyer half.

When Cooke gets the ball in the opposition half he looks for the forward option whenever possible. He is able to make the space to create a forward run or dangerous forward pass. Without him we either turn backwards when there are good options ahead or else hit misplaced passes that gift possession away. Our chance creation is minimal.

We basically have four forwards up top now. The problem is getting the ball to them without it being an aimless kick.

Based on the first half we play like its a chess game - slow and ponderous. The way we play is getting more Bowyerwsque, Tayloresque. If this is the modern way to play football you can keep it.

Canavan a class above the rest of the City team, which isn't saying a lot in that first half.

Agree, because he drops into that space between attack and midfield and he is comfortable to turn on the ball. Neither Evans or Sutton are really. Crankshaw at times kicks it like a fifa player about 5 yards in front of him and Vernham isn't a central player either.

we need another avenue in attack, this current team is too lob sided without cooke. too many defensive minded players an no one to link up the attacking play. Would be nice if we had hosannah available; might be able to create chances from a different source seeing as wood cant cross for shit today
