    I think you are going massively OTT FB. We've had a year of the club being decimated which has been done to death, this year has seen a complete squad rebuild and probably sees us have the largest budget in the league. We are very very close to the autos after fighting constant injury battles all season, it's not a myth that not having a settled side hampers the quality of football. Me personally I don't feel like the team has reached it's potential just as yet but with the players reaching fitness I think we will grow us a team and the football will improve.

    Dying a slow death yet very much looking we have a chance of going straight back up at the first time of asking? I wouldn't class the largest budget and just outside autos as dying a slow death. Maybe, just maybe SR is going to back us with some of his wealth if we go up and give it a good go... It's not like the money wasn't spent in League One it was just horrifically misused. I think you have caught chronic Fordyitus!;)

    I get your point of wanting more, but we are in a great position to do so this season.

    On your Sheff point, one of the main reasons the fans were embarrassed is mainly because of how much they spent and still couldn't get promoted. For example, in 15/16 season they finished 11th but had wage budget of £11.3 million, 2nd largest in L1 history only behind Wigan's £11.9m budget that season. When they did go up, they had a just over 10 million wage budget alone along with spending nearly £1.5 million on known transfers along with a few undisclosed and guys like Fleck on a free msot likely on big money for the division. Miles ahead of the rest of the pack. They had a similar 17-18,000 season ticket sale number to us that season, however the average ticket in L1 was just under £300 per adult, nearly double ours that season.

    If you spend that kind of cash in the lower leagues, the fans do have more of a right to expect a return. Until we start blowing teams out the water financially, I don't think it's fair to expect us to run away with the league.

    Timing is key and I agree that we missed a massive opportunity after the playoff final loss. Prices should've gone up, Stuart should've been backed, the squad should've been retained and we should've added the 2-3 quality players that would've turned us into automatic promotion candidates - but we all know what happened!!

    Price increases need to be a part of a demonstrable plan for growing the club. You also need a viable strategy, led by capable professionals who're empowered to deliver. You put prices up when you're on an upward trajectory and we'd probably have to do it in small(ish) increments initially. If we go up, prices should go up by 25-50 quid for an adult ST. If we don't, then we'll probably have to freeze them because the turgid style of play we have will be a deterrent on its own.

    I don't think we should necessarily jump straight to these levels, but I'd imagine a pricing structure along the lines of:

    League 1:
    Adult ST = £230. Tenner a game marketing type approach. Hardly expensive in relation to the game.
    U16 and OAP = £100 for the first, any more priced at £75
    U11 = £50
    Matchday tickets at £20 for adults, £10 for U16s and £5 for U11s

    Championship:

    Adult ST = £300 - then rising with inflation for every year we were there
    U16 and OAP = £150 for the first, any more priced at £100
    U11 = £75
    Matchday tickets at £25 for adults, £15 for U16s and £10 for U11s £

    That's still very competitively priced, still looks to make the game affordable for families etc. Done right, in parallel with an improving team that was a mixture of successful and enjoyable to watch, fans wouldn't leave. I'm certain of it.

    A lack of progress is a bigger deterrent. I have no intention of coming back to watch League 2 football next year.

    And where's YOUR fight (and loyalty), Fordy ? ………….. All we hear is that you can do it, but you're not a charity.
    Supporters like me give our ALL emotionally, and financially (where we can). When we can't do that, we still turn up in numbers on match days, and spend our hard earned for free. Life is a BIG shit sandwich, and some take a bigger bite than others, don't forget that. Go on, at least take a nibble ......... GEDDIT ? ……… !!

    He's restricting good footballers though by tactics and with square pegs in round holes. We've got the potential to have a really good side but seems more bothered about not conceding when I've not seen any team that carries a constant threat? We should be on the front foot from the off but instead seems content with coasting through to half time as long as it's 0-0 he's happy, then trying to nick one. I don't get the negative approach with the players we have on the books?

    I've seen some good periods throughout watching City where success has been at a premium. Promotion under Trevor Cherry where we played some decent football although probably not old enough to really appreciate it. The nearly season under Terry Dolan was about as good as football gets, played some great football and should really have gone up. Have to go about ten years after that to when the football was decent again, wasn't too bad under Kamara but not great, but Jewell took it to another level playing the best football i've ever seen from City in that promotion season. An amazing season to stay in the premiership and then downhill from there. The Parkinson era dragged this club out of the mire it had been in for over a decade with what i would call effective football. Can't deny the success but i don't remember it like i did under the previous managers i mentioned. Only time will tell with Bowyer but so far he's steadied what was a sinking ship. He reminds of Parkinson in a lot of ways in that he could well be successful but i'm not sure the football will live long in the memory.

    I spoke to a couple of Blackburn fans at work to see if Bowyer was stubborn with his tactics when he was manager there. The response I got was, he signs some really good players and gets the best out of them. Also he keeps them really fit throughout the season - must be having an unlucky one here - or something wrong with our fitness/physios?

    However tactically he doesn't know how to change his tactics or read a game where some tactics need changing within that game. This final comment worried me and I really hope he doesn't play 433 at the weekend.

    On facebook someone put up this stat, which explains everything -

    352 - (P=1 L=1)
    4312 - (P=2 D=2)
    4141 - (P=2 W=2)
    433 - (P=6 W=2 D=1 L=3)
    442 - (P=7 W=5 D=1 L=1)

    I think the formation is the last of our problems currently. I'm not subscribed to this 442 is the only way stuff and can see why Bowyer plays 433.

    I'm much more concerned at the style of play and the negative and conservative tactics and instructions which the players are receiving. You sort that out and then it doesn't really matter what formation gets played providing players play in their natural positions.

    Playing 442 isn't suddenly going to make us create more chances or keep possession of the ball better if the instructions from the manager stay the same.

    Spot on this but @BradfordBanter@BradfordBanter might say you're repeating yourself.

    People need to understand that Bowyer's tactics and mindset to the game is the main issue at the moment.

    Flynn has been at Newport in a managerial coaching capacity since 2016, a bit harsh on Bowyer who has Bradford City in a better league position 7th than Flynn has Newport i17th and Newport will be 7 points adrift come 5 O'clock on Saturday ;).
