I agree, but not sure what is going on with Cooke

I like Cooke though and he would start ahead of a Reeves, Palmer or McCartan for me.

 

What do you want him to do with the ball with nobody moving - hoof it forrad??

He's doing pretty well for a player that you thought would never ever ever play again.

 

That's definitely suffering for the cause .. Hope you don't suffer too much self harm (in the context of frustration) at VP in the rest of 2020. Best wishes on a swift recovery from any associated pain!

 

For a start he needs to stop dropping so deep to collect the ball and certainly not when we're playing 3 CB or 5 at the back.

He needs to look up and try to pass forward more.
He needs to make better runs forward and find space instead of just looking busy.
He needs to shoot more.

He was always coming back. He wasn't going to end his career.

 

Pretty certain you said he was finished and wouldn't play for City again.

Get players in front of him to move, make runs and want the ball and he will pass forward more. He's playing as a defensive midfielder, his main job is to sit and move the ball but if players don't give him options he can't do his job properly.

 

That's not his main job at all.

If that's his main job then what's Palmers.

Reeves is a CM not a DM. He was dreadful yesterday.

 

Not sure Palmer has the ability to do a job.

He's picking play up from a defensive midfield position and trying to start play the majority of the time - I'd say that is where he's playing.

Dreadful!!! He didn't have his best game but he was far from dreadful. Take a look at McCarten and Palmer for dreadful.

 

Gave up McCartan a long time ago. Shocked he's even starting.

 

If he was capable of doing all those you've posted every game he certainly wouldn't be playing 4th division footbal.

We signed him as a div 1 player.

I expect him and Palmer to show div 1 qualities.

 

I think expectations are way too high seems some want us to play like Barcelona and win every week comfortably - it just isn't going to happen. I'm more than comfortable with Bowyer doing what ever is necessary to get us out of this league and he deserves more credit and respect than he is getting from some fans at the minute.

Morecambe were poor but so we're we in the main and the booing at half time wasn't really warranted. McCartan was awful both in terms of effort and application. In that role he is supposed to link the play the amount of times Reeves was looking for some one to play a forward ball to and getting no runner was ridiculous and that's his job. Bowyer has shown total faith in Shay and backed him when most others would have happily waved goodbye he would do well to remember that and start sticking his body in where it hurts.

That being said we were much more entertaining when we went with wingers and looked a real threat.

Agree but those 8 to 10 games coincided with an injury crisis and bug going round the club. I'm not trying to make excuses but this must have had a slight effect. We did ok against Salford. That voila easily have been 3 0

 

That’s averaging a point a game that combined with home wins which in the main we are doing is promotion form. That said of course it would be nice to win a few away when we can get Donaldson and Pritchard back we can start to that like when we played our best football of the season with 4 wins on the bounce
