I wasn’t pumped up after our wins vs Newport, Mansfield or today, it’s just the way it is. If you are then great but at the moment I have little enthusiasm for City. I have no idea why you , or anyone else would be offended at my feelings towards the club

I’m sure the excitement will return at some point (probably at the backend of the season) but in the meantime it looks like we are going to have to put up with Bowyer’s dull brand of football. Don’t like it ? Tough shît.

You are faced with a choice. Playing nice football, maybe entertaining but finish out of the play offs. Close but no cigar. League 2. Or perhaps really dull football but either an auto promotion or a chance in the play offs.
    What do you take?

That 70 minutes has to rank as some of the worst football I've ever seen. We managed to make a struggling foot of the table side look the better side for large parts of that game. 3 points though so alls good and that I suppose.

We're playing poor football. Total devoid of entertainment. But we're winning. And in all honesty I'll take that. Three more points today. Onwards and upwards.

That was dire. And Bowyer beating his chest and roaring at the crowd after the game was just embarrassing. Calm down Gary- we have just beaten the worst team in the football league at home 1-0 with our only shot on target...

And why does it have to be one or the other?

Is Akpan injured or are we keeping him in cotton wool until the transfer window and hope the rumour Tranmere want him is true.

The very moment we change to 442, with wingers (not full backs being played as wingers) we instantly find a balance in the side! Real width and attacking intent, and we get the goal. Not just that but we start creating chances. Players doing simple tasks well, in positions theyre comfortable width. No over complication. If this isnt the wake up call for Bland Bowyer then I dont know what is. This formation simply HAS TO BE EMPLOYED against every other team other than the very best sides in the league, I'd understand more if we try and contain Swindon away at their place on Saturday with more in midfield, maybe Crewe (a real footballing side) but theres no excuse for anything other than 442 against all other sides, because that's how we play our best game

Truly awful to watch until the substitutions were made and then frustrating to think how much easier and more convincing the win could have been had we started like that. Like you say, a win is a win and they are all welcome but we aren't half making a meal of it.

It doesn't. I just put up a scenario. You haven't answered.
Remember last time we were in league 2? How was it then?

Another dour game and another three points. I think we could have been a little more adventurous today, this formation might be making us defensively solid but I think our attacking players are so used to playing defensive football that when we switch it up and go on the attack they have almost forgotten what to do. We seemed to have a boost in confidence after the goal and looked more dangerous straight away. We can't play this way indefinitely, hopefully it suits us more when Devitt and Donaldson are back.

Palmer was bloody awful today. He set the tone for an awful game today.

How just did he survive 90 minutes?

In that case it's time to stop going to matches or even being a City fan. Find another club or even sport and stop your constant bitching. Same goes to the usual suspects on here.

I've just paid £80 for the last two games, l fully understand that some just want a City win regardless, l am not one of them. You would have to give me a free ticket to go again, plus at least £50 compensation too. I walked away thinking £80 is 40 pints in Spoons. I've had zero entertainment & zero value for money.

Make no mistake Bowyer got lucky big time today, there is absolutely no reason for the first hours tactics with the players available. He has to bin the 5 at the back, it achieves nothing.

In fairness the 5 at the back does achieve something. Defensive stability. In that respect, it works.

But the other 2/3 of the pitch...... Well that's another story

The constant negative tone is draining also, and rubs off on everyone else too.

If people are not happy with the style of football, fine, make your points constructively and engage in conversation

Exactly. Swindon, Crewe and Exeter are going great guns, playing good football and on lesser budgets.
