No problem agreeing to disagree Broncs. But it's hardly a humiliation, although I do feel for FCD. I would have though that Canavan was big enough to take it.

Good point about the tactics to be fair, maybe the last game was the straw that broke the camel's back as far as Canavan was concerned, but I still expected better from him

I completely agree the club is a complete basket case and the transfer without replacing him just smells of another comical c0ck up in a season full of them.

I just don't think he improves the team so in my mind it's akin to moving on someone like Evans or Lavery.

Wasn't Canavan at Plymouth towards the back end of Deluded's reign there ? Perhaps he knew from day one that he could no longer work with him but just bided his time, being undermined week after week, until things came to a head.

I imagine if you don't like deluded Derek, the second thing to snap (after your hamstring) is your mental health.

Put me in Canavans place and I would be off too. Don't forget he was a city supporter, and how chuffed he was to come here in January 21

Will the eagle eyed be there tonight having a gander and which prospective managers are in the crowd?

I have always thought, when a player has a red card rescinded for alleged punch throwing or an elbow, the opposition player should get the ban ,if he is rolling around like he has been shot, blatant cheating that has an affect on the match.
They would soon stop this behavior . It was not like this lad had claret all over him and a couple of teeth missing like Paudie against Salford.

With another centre back lined up to replace Canavan 100% the right decision. With Kelleher, Staunton and POC, arguably Songo’o, it was a poor decision. One’s non league, one’s a kid and one is playing out of position. Poor decision in that context

Unfortunately this is where the power lies with the players. If Canavan has taken his bat home what can you do?

I would rather we had brought in another centre- half, than Delfonso. we already had Elliot . Robinson and Lavery. how many non scoring forwards do we need.
Yes we do have lots of players who can play that defensive position, but they are too inexperienced , out of their normal position and not comfortable or simply not good enough to be a regular starter.
We should have replaced Canavan, who actually has been very poor this season.

We need to play Delfouneso on the wing or there's no point in him being here.

He seems to be getting lumped in with Robinson, but I'm pretty sure he's not meant to be a centre forward.

I am not sure he is a footballer. So fits in well with a lot of our players.

I get that but the season was probably dead and buried anyway. My point is that with or without Canavan we aren't making the playoffs so if the right person wasn't available it was probably better to save the cash and wait until the summer.

Gillead is blgging up Mark Trueman. Will we see a revitalised winger tearing Harrogate apart?
It seems like years since I saw a victory on I Follow but I've donated another £10 to the fund for masochists.
Just remembered it was Stevenage in August.

    Is Ryan thinking that, though?

We all knew the season was dead in November, realistically, but the club wanted to pretend we had a chance; even before Adams got sacked he said something along the lines of 'we WILL make the play offs'.

I get the feeling Sparks let Canavan go while hoping we achieved promotion, which is baffling no matter how you look at it.

Are we expecting a decent turn out for this game? With it being a Tuesday night and things not going so perfectly, it's still a Yorkshire Derby, so I wondered if we would still see a crowd tonight?

    West Yorkshire VS North Yorkshire!

I think someone said earlier that Canavan was "doing a Vaughan". If he was refusing to play for the manager I'm not sure what choice does he has, he can't really sack the manager......oh hang on......

I suspect you are bang on the money here General. Canavan looked a pale shadow of the commanding presence we saw last season, who was publicly proud as punch to be playing for the club he's supported all his life. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he (and no doubt several other players) hated playing under Adams and failed to perform at their best as a result. If that was the case, then being publicly called out was the last straw that broke the camel's back rather than an isolated incidence of Canavan taking his bat home.

Can’t argue with that m9, it’s not like he was peak Cannavaro or Moore. On the other hand I’m not wholly sure the season is totally dead without a few more points on the board. A couple more points and the season certainly is done.
