Doesn't surprise me. I said at the time I couldn't see anything that warranted a red. As bad as we were on Sunday, the ref was awful. An unfair red and a valid goal chalked off. Back to 2-1 with 5 mins left, and 11 men on the pitch, we could've snatched a point.

We wouldn’t have deserved to snatch it but you’re absolutely right - we were actually on top when we scored that perfectly good goal (which the ref and linesman both signalled as a goal until Piergianni got in their ears).
Who knows what would’ve happened those last five or ten minutes

 

Fiacre Kelleher's brother, Caoimhin, is one of Liverpools reserve goalkeepers.

Was never a red - six of one and half a dozen of the other. It looked worse becasue their player was on the floor and POC was stood over him. Paudie didnt touch the lad apart from a slight scuffle which involved a bit of shirt pulling.

No choice I heard, very much a similar situation with regards Vaughan, after Adams post match outburst the other week Canavan told Adams he didn't want to play for him again, not sure if Barrow had spoken to his agent but he didn't need to be asked twice.

 

Agree although it's given to stop raining and brighten up I can see tonight being the lowest attendance for a few years although they will quote all our season ticket holders and Harrogates traveling army.

 

Still don't understand why the headed goal was ruled out, as many have said the referee gave it there was no flag from the lino who eventually caved in to Piergianni's protests.

 

Justice done it simply wasn’t a red, players do far worse every week when they follow someone going out of play and push them into advertising boards which is far more dangerous and get nothing. I think the red thought he’d hit him not just thrown him to the floor. Well at least we can put some sort of defence out now if nothing else.

 

So who did we replace him with Hendrie when we needed a Rb too? It was poor not to have a straight replacement identified we could go for - did the scouts not have one identified with the January coming up?
The transfer window was abysmal for a club that told us we were prepared.

 

That was probably Derek’s ego getting rid of someone who had been rumoured to have stood up to him after throwing the players under the bus in post match interviews, and perhaps the final straw for Sparks.

Niall came back to Bradford as a Bradford lad and by his own admission said he planned to come back for a lot longer than he did.

I know his performances this season weren’t great but neither have anyone else’s in the team.

When your Captain walks into training and makes that comment I wouldn't have thought Adams had any plans for signing another CB the T&A reported it on January 31st the last day of the January window.

It needs to be added to the list of Sparks' blunders, selling Canavan because he wouldn't work with Adams then sacking Adams almost straight away.

That's as bad as offering contract extensions then firing folk two games later.
