Don't know where we go from here. Looked better in the first half. But Cheltenham totally dominated after half time. They continue to concede goals, without creating much or threatening the opposition's goal that frequently.

It's not like I could diagnose where a couple of players in specific positions would make a significant improvement. They're conceding without creating or scoring many. It's ONLY the defence, midfield and attack that needs improving.

One of the most important January transfer windows in the club's modern history beckons. I don't think I'd be overly dramatic if I was to say, if they screw this one up, then there might not be a BCAFC for very much longer.

 

They are just two of the many players on our books who are non league standard, and that's why we are plummeting towards the National League.

 

Watt and Cooke are very similar, and pretty hit and miss.

But what really shows when they start to misplace passes and make silly errors is they aren't experienced enough to be midfield generals. They are suffering from not playing alongside a seasoned campaigner.

 

Unless he comes to his senses he's going to be the first manager to take us to non league in our history. And we'd have to pay him off or stick with that first manager ever to do it. Makes giving him a contract extension look very silly.

 

He's full of shit. It was only a few weeks ago he was saying he was looking at the table and results hoping they'd gone in our favour.

 

And with that hes lost any support I had left for him to stay. We are well and truly fecked and I have no idea what the solution even is anymore

 

McCall certainly doesn't do himself any favours.
His ludicrous comments and belief in players returning from injury are absolutely delusional.
Happy with squad numbers padded out with young unseasonable player's with no experience of pitting their wits against experienced professionals in a survival environment, is in my opinion a damming suicidal approach which will inevitably play a major part in the final outcome to an already horrendous season.

 

You can see a pack of five or six soon getting left behind now can’t you. Grimsby took a real thumping tonight, Scunny are awful, stevenage, Mansfield and us also in the thick of it. Maybe even Harrogate might get sucked back into it as injuries and a busy schedule takes its toll.

A long slog until the end of the season beckons, to see who follows Southend through the trapdoor.

 

Our on loan right back showed our resident right winger exactly how to play right wing. DMH is a disgrace. I'd rather an U18 winger take his place.

 

I don't agree, I think the blame lays firmly at the feet of the management team for being unable to coach them into an actual team. Take last night for example, the back 5 were all at the club last season and all regularly played in a mid-table to play off side. Midfield, you had Watt & Cooke who were both League Two players with Donaldson who I agree is past it. DMH, Scales and French probably are non-league level and then you have Hossannah who is clearly a level above.

The comment further up this thread shows that Carlisle are performing admirably with players that our management deemed not good enough in favour of some of these mentioned above! That in itself says it all!
