I would think with regards Julian's vision/ambition for the club that can only be based on the present finances and possible future finances, the early offer of cheap season tickets I believe was on the back of Bowyer getting the team improving and ultimately getting us promoted, unfortunatly at the present time the product ain't going to bring back the fans who have been here when we were drawing 17,000 fans for home games.
Not trying to take the flack off of Juilan but surely the dictating factor of any club is what the owner is prepared to put in.
And yes I'll be there Tuesday night as you will ;).

It's a tricky one to call for sure. The campaign for 20k seasons tickets suggests that promotion at the first time of asking is absolutely the aim this year - no way would they be thinking they could sell that many for another year in league 2.
Well, as things stand, they are going to fall well short of that figure, even if we do still manage to go up because the football Bowyer has us watching is never going to get bums on seats. Yes it would cost to pay him and Drury off and get someone new in with their own backroom staff but if that led to an improvement on the pitch in terms of performances and results, and a return of the 'feel good' factor, surely it would be worth the financial cost. Of course, there is always a risk that the gamble might not pay off but the flip side is that doing nothing could also be disastrous. So what should Rupp do? Stick or twist?

Sadly I don't think they will now. I think they're pretty confident they'll be ok without him. I wouldn't be surprised to see Yates return to them next week on a permanent, younger and most likely cheaper, with a potential resale value as well.

Sadly I think your right after seeing the short video clip on Quest last night, they seem to have adapted very well without Doyle or Yeats.

I agree that a new manager would inherit a team that is in a better position than teams that many of our previous managers have inherited. But a couple of further points on this.

I don't believe that this team is automatic promotion material, the midfield is too weak as it stands, I'd take Gary Jones, Nathan Doyle, Garry Thompson and Kyel Reid over the midfield that we have now, and we only finished in the playoffs with that midfield. It's too late for a new manager to fix that now, the best that a new manager could achieve would be to stop the slide and maintain our position in the playoffs.

Speaking of "statistically one of the best defences in the league", there is no guarantee that a new manager would inherit this if it's something that has been coached into them by Bowyer. We might become more prolific in front of the goal but more leaky at the back, we just don't know.

In a complex situation it's a lot easier to make things worse than it is to make them better. I think people are overstating the benefits and understating the risks of changing manager at this stage of the season.

As fans its an emotive subject for us and everyone's passions are inflamed right now to the extent that I doubt any of us can claim to be thinking with 100% clarity. It would be a shame for us to make a knee jerk decision and potentially write off the rest of the season.

It's a gamble and a risk either way. I have given Bowyer the benefit of the doubt for a long time but what has been a game changer for me over the last couple of games is evidence right before my eyes that he has lost the dressing room. I'm not sure he can rectify that, are you?

Rhodes and Rupp should ask themselves 2 questions. “Is the present squad capable of promotion?” And “is Bowyer the man to deliver it?” My own answer to that would be yes and not a cat in hells chance, so on that basis I don’t see the prospect of a new managerial appointment as much of a risk. It’s not exactly like we’re going places under Bowyer. This squad needs a level of direction and coaching that him and his clown assistant are unable to deliver.

That midfield is bang average league 2. As a team we are no better or worse than the vast majority of teams in this division.

This team and manager as shown earlier this season and with our home form and the fact we have never been out of the top seven that we can get promotion. With a spell of 4 away matches in 5 out of the way it’s time to get back on track on Tuesday

And even with those 5 changes, I bet Cooke still starts on the bench. (But Palmer will be straight back in if fit).
