Id like it to be bigger than anyone but Wrexham tbh. If they don’t come up we should (but won’t) have the highest budget in the league. Smashing fourth tier attendance records, we are a massive club, we have a massive manager. It doesnt fit we’ve moderate ambition and a moderate budget. But I won’t hold my breath!

 

Noticed near us it was rammed and our block (top tier sunwin) is usually sparse.

Exactly.i want Hughes to have the calibre of player such as Jamie Walker at the club. I don't want journey men or shite loans or be told we have held money back for January. Give him the right squad in the summer.

 

I agree with you Shoatsy, I thought Patrick was very poor - but the lad who came on up front for the last 10-15 was even worse!

Is he a good athlete? Sure. Did he cause us any problems? No.

Overall opinion of the Carlisle squad?

Songo'o was MOTM because he had to be nullifying Patrick's threat-I agree with you that Songo'o was immense but he had to be.

Gibson seemed to be the only player they had that created things. Yes his free kicks were not good but his other play was noticeable. BTW Cooke should have been red carded for kicking him in that incident mid way through the second half. Beckham got sent of for less.

 

Today was the highest attendance for a fourth tier game at Valley Parade beating the previous vs Workington in the 60s.

Question is how many of our esteemed posters attended both the Workington and Carlisle games?

The highest fourth tier attendance is from 1960/1 season when over 37k attended the Crystal Palace v Millwall game.

Not a common score this season. Nor a 2 goal gap.

Clean sheet and pretty much rarely troubled. No backs to the wall stuff. No deep defending and hanging on.

Deserved goal up and found a second when we needed it and perhaps could have been more if we needed to push on.

All in all, almost dull in a way! But in another a well planned, well deserved victory that showed how much we've progressed.

He was very very effective today. Compare that with Adams et al thinking he’s a wide player. His interchange with Watt was pretty good and that’s where Hughes and Hodges have taken us to a better level already. Let’s face it it was the same squad that Adams used!

 

Sparkie just commenting on players who may not be with us next season, they have seen what we as fans can offer do they want to be a part of that next season every other week playing in front of crowds like today, because that's what he believes will be on offer.
With regards the likes of Walker he would be delighted to keep him and he believes purely on a football level Jamie would love to stay but they have got their children in school and he's away from his family all week he has that to take into consideration.

Hi. Not sure we were at same game. Gilead lost the ball on so many occasions and any tracking back was as a result to retrieve it.

If we want promotion next year, we can abs should bring in better players. At best a squad player.

And I believe the Workington game was a Wednesday midweek ?.
