I lived round the corner for a few years whilst I was at uni down there so have a soft spot for them, they were my second team while I was down there and went to a fair few matches - do like the standing terrace behind the goal. Still a shit stadium and small club though, don't know what Barton was on about - looked and sounded like he was on crack in that interview... he's a couple of weeks away from occasioning a vicious assault on someone, he looks like he's coming apart at the seams. Wouldn't be surprised to see him and Adams getting involved in handbags Saturday

 

Barton's Fleetwood were one of the most cynical, anti-football teams I've seen come to City in recent years. Nicked a goal and timewasted for 65 minutes it was awful, fully expect him to send someone out to injure O'Donnell

He’s due in court on November for the allegations of assault against the Barnsley manager as well.

 

Very baffling that Bristol Rovers haven't got rid of him, or at least suspended him. Surely they would have valid grounds to do so.

I've just listened to his rambling pre-Carlisle press conference. Sounded like the job is getting on top of him. Some very strange comments . A handsome City win tomorrow should, hopefully, leave him free to concentrate on his court cases.

 

Barton's preview of the City game is on You Tube. He talks about them wanting a fast start and quietening the home crowd, so expect them to turn City around if they win the toss.

Rovers have won 2 of their last 3 league games though and smashed Carlisle 3-0 so maybe they're turning their season round

I just have a feeling because I really like the idea of Vernam running at either Junior Brown or the kid they've been playing at full back

Whelan and Coutts will be a tough test for our midfield but if we set up right we should be getting Gilliead and Vernam on the ball as often as possible and blitzing them down the sides I really think we can do a number on them]

The Bristol journalist covering Bristol Rovers reckons that they will start the match with a a 3 5 2 formation.
I hope that Eisa starts because he is more likely to cause problems for their midfielders than Gillead and Cook desperately needs support up front.

 

Would play Robinson in to replace Gilliad to give more support for Cook and put pressure on their defence especially if they play 3 at the back as rumored

He’s not in the Steve Evans category for truly hated managers yet but he’s very easy to dislike.
Very limited as a player and hardly pulling up any trees as a manager.
Hopefully his thuggery catches up with him and he gets what he deserves.
One of those games when you want to win a little more due to the opposition’s manager.
