Starting to feel like Football Manager where you've run out of options and you keep clicking through the week until the next game and hoping for the best.

After seeing Staunton not really look out of place in the league before his injury, absolutely mystified that Kelleher get's a shirt after what I saw today. Really couldn't pass a ball and certainly not in any comfort forward. He was beaten in the air half the time and we when we decide not to throw our 6'7" CB into the area in added time for a long throw I fail to see his worth.

Is it a part of the JD with managing us that you have to peddle that out to the media? If we have enough budget to bring in quality in January, then I want to know why we have slummed it this window by bringing in Robinson and Lavary when a quality striker and number 10 would probably be the difference??

Sometimes you attend a game and think to yourself at the final whistle.
Well that was a waste of time.
Today was one of those days.
    Dreadful performance.

Agree although i don't believe there is a player signed who Adams did not have the final word and could have pushed back on. He's a deflector and it's never his fault always someone else's.

Easy target, isn't it? Easy to blame someone no longer here than the players. After all, he needs to work with most of these players for the next 3 or 9 months. Assuming he stays that long because its ultimately Sparks job on the line because he went "all in" for Adams so really their success or failure is almost inextricably linked.

You're right Wilsden but we can't go on doing the same thing for 3 or 4 consecutive matches. We're now predictable. That's how Barrow did so well today. They knew what we'd do and counteracted it.

We keep saying "we have no back up to Cook" but honestly that doesn't make sense because the way we're playing doesn't play to Cook's strengths!

I bet he's as frustrated as anyone else.

We need to change the way we play or actually change Cook - he's not scoring because the team isn't set up to help him score.

I think we can say Sparks whipping up the anticipation levels was a mistake our fans are already expecting to dominate this division

What you're failing to realise re Bolton is they binned off their shite signings from the summer and replaced them with genuine quality in January. Thats not happening here.

Due to failing health I don't see the action first hand as you are able to and I bow to your experience. For me it's all about engineering 3 points and I feel that we are on a run not able to do so. Sure if we find a way to take the chances we create..we'll get back on track. Just to add, I value contributions by your good self and most on here it keeps me up to speed.

Think they should try cook and Robinson up front and play a diamond formation with songo and Cooke

We are down for our first match of the season and looking forward to the team bouncing back from Saturday's late defeat.

I've seen the phrase 'clearly talented' used before to describe players in the past such as Billy knott but surely clearly talented would have an end product as per the position a said player is apparently good at. For example a keeper who commands his box, a centre back that dominates strikers or forwards who have a high strike rate etc. For a player to have talent we need to see it on a regular basis and as you allude to an 'end product'.

Not a fan of wingers playing on the wrong wing. Beagrie excepted but he was a different gravy. On the whole give me a by line winger who can worry the keeper with the different angles that their play creates. Ball from deep swinging in to wards a keeper are easy meat compared to outswinging ones that a centre forward can run on to, and the keeper usually can only punch, are far more effective

A side down to 10 men that is drawing is a completely different kettle of fish to a side of 10 that is losing. Had we faced the latter rather than the former then I think we would have won the game. That said, I agree that poor elements such as lack of quality in terms of our finishing certainly played a part in the result.
