So my take on this FWIW.

Carlisle are entitled to 2,000 tickets but cannot be accommodated in the usual 2 end blocks of MR as they only hold 1800 IIRC.

I read somewhere that MH wants fans behind both goals so the only option left is to give Carlisle the other blocks in MR and to make some extra cash give them all the available seats in the blocks usually taken by City fans-why not try to make some easy cash even after its divvied out, we still make a bit more?

MR has 4500 seats-1800 = 2700 less the seats lost to the netting and you have about 2400.

The online ticketing system seems to need an upgrade. Maybe what has happened will force the club to get the system upgraded and fit for purpose when we get into the play offs next season in League 1.

 

This clearly has not been thought through at both ends. The locals in Manningham will have a field day with all these cars parked in extremely risky places for those that don’t know the score.
Madness. If I were them I’d look at parking up in Keighley, Bingley, even Skipton and get the train in. At least they will get a train back to there.

 

Nothing like making it complicated! Why doesn’t the home club keep income , pay the EFL their dues and be done with it.

Interested for you to name these dodgy places as I have probably parked there myself. In PL years parked off Lumb Lane. Now park off ML itself. Have parked in Walmer villas etc was well. TBF the only time I have encountered anything was after we beat Preston NE in the fog at VP on the telly years ago ( Jacobs scored I think ) and a PNE fan put my drivers window through as I passed him on Walmer Villas. I was sticking my middle finger up at him so I guess I deserved it.

 

If that is the case then I am sure that this sorry episode will focus them to re configure it.

I lived in Manningham, 1954 -1969. I know every nook a cranny around VP and I know where I can park and where I can’t. Don’t forget Manningham is about the same size as Keighley! That’s a complete contrast to someone driving from Carlisle who ain’t got a clue.

It’s what I’d be doing as I doubt the away fans will be allowed to walk along MR towards Queens Road after the game so they might as well walk the other way to the station, avoid all the traffic along Canal Road, then a traffic free run home up the A65

Park in Broadway.
Lots of security CCTV etc and secure and it only costs £2, or over the road at the leisure exchange where they have security staff downstairs.

I wouldn't be parking round the ground knowing the history of the place.

 

Sorry if I misunderstood your post. You said there were no go areas with some confidence. Thought you would know where they were.
