    The test results for all the other players and staff will be known tomorrow morning? If only one player has covid and all necessary precautions taken for the rest, surely the game has to go ahead.
    If games are to be cancelled due to on3 player having covid this season will never finish.
    Incidentally does anyone know what the rules are for cancelling games due to covid. Our game against Grimsby is off due to a number of players/staff having covid. In this instances how many are effected this may help understand if games are likely to be cancelled

    Yet tomorrow we are talking about a team with 1 positive being postponed. There is clearly a lack of guidance or any plan B.

    Not pleased at all, just puzzled as to why so many even contemplated that this wouldn't happen.
    The club will struggle financially as it is and could do without the admin costs in issuing refunds.

    Correct me if I am wrong, but if you have come into contact with someone with CoVid you should isolate for 14 days. This is what I would have to do if a child in my daughters class tested positive as my daughter could have been in contact and I am in contact with my daughter.

    So why would the Stevenage players even if tested negative not be the same.

    The reason we got for quarantines being required for overseas travel and not tests at the airport is that it can take several days to appear, so today's tests are fairly irrelevant.

    Apparently there is no compulsory testing process either like in the PL. Orient's tests had been paid for by Spurs

    I hope the club push for the games to go ahead. Surely the EFL can not be allowing matches to be called off for a single positive test

    I agree.

    Additionally, it beggars belief that the EFL has, seemingly, not got a set protocol for dealing with such occurrences.

    How long does it take to get from Stevenage to Bradford by coach? I know best case its just under 4 hours by car so they would need to leave by about 10am to get there for 2pm when they are required to be at the ground but I imagine by coach its atleast another hour so it would be cutting it fine if the test results aren't in by 8am at the latest.

    As for what happens its the same rules as normal when it comes to illness and that's it will depend if the league accept it as a valid reason why they can't field a team. If they just don't turn up without the league giving the OK the match will be forfeited and a 3-0 win awarded (That better not happen. WTF do I do with the Prediction League if that's the case?) but if the league deems them unable to field a team that usually triggers a postponement. Think it was Middlesbrough in the PL a few years back had basically their whole team out with illness and the league told them to play their reserves or forfeit the match. I would imagine with COVID though they are going to be much more open to granting a postponement even for a single player. But then again we saw in the league cup WH have to play and Orient couldn't play and were basically kicked out so maybe they will keep taking the tough line and say to both Stevenage and Grimsby to play their reserves (or u18's) or forfeit them match

    TBH the PFA should be put in charge of managing a fund to pay for all testing throughout English football. Have the clubs pay in a certain amount (Either a sliding scale by division or maybe have it based on the a percentage of their weekly wage bill) and the players also put in a percentage of their weekly wage. Maybe have the PL still fund their own testing as well but you would hope that there would be enough coming in each week to fund regular testing at least through the EFL, mabe even into the National League if they ever get going

    Guessing you didn’t watch the Spurs documentary on Amazon Prime? The players were hardly trying to keep away from unnecessary contact in training when they came back from lockdown in that

    I agree hence my point about taking all necessary precautions. Not sure how it works for sports team thought, I know it should be the. Same but wasn’t Josh Cullen about to get on a team bus to play when he tested positive but their game went ahead. Just think we need some clarity

    This was the statement from Grimsby Town's chairman:

    There seems to be a bit of a leap (with no explanation) from the players could be tested again, to allow the Grimsby v City match to go ahead, to the training ground needs to be shut down for 14 days and so the Grimsby v City match is off.

    Surely, the unavailability of a training ground is not a reason in itself to call off the match, otherwise we could keep calling matches off every time our training pitches flood.

    Parents of children are expected to isolate because their child shares the same classroom as a child who tests positive. They are in far closer contact than parents under those rules.
