Maybe after a head injury is treated they should go off the pitch and be assessed there for possible concussion.
This would make players a little less likely if they know they're going to spend 2 or 3 minutes on the sideline whilst play continues.

It's getting silly. It's used to affect the game.

I think we should start keeping stats on players who go down with a "head injury".

After a certain number of "head injury" incidents, a player should have to sit out a game as a concussion precaution. They might not have concussion, but so many "blows to the head" can be damaging.

This way, we don't negate the seriousness of head injuries, but in incidents where players are clutching their heads to affect the game in some way, they may think twice.

Like that idea, they have stats for everything these days.

What I couldn't get my head around (pardon the pun), was when Webster was treated for his 'injury', he was asked to leave the pitch. He was allowed to run over to the dug-out instead of leaving the field by the closest exit (behind O'Donnell's goal). And even then, having run off the pitch, the ref waved him back on immediately after blowing his whistle for O'Donnell to restart the game. What is the point in making players leave the field if you are going to flag them back on straight away? So not only did Webster not leave the pitch where he should have, the ref then allowed him to come straight back on without having to wait and time. Bonkers

When Webster ran off after his 'injury', it was the fastest he had run all game.

And still had a clear enough head to pull his shorts up his arse crack to the fans behind the dugout who were calling him a cheat

Problem then is the pressure you put on the physio to make a call quicker than he should do and rush it and risk missing something which goes against everything the protocols where brought in for. The reason for the new rules were to give the physio enough time to make an initial call and do all of the test without the pressure of time or any interference from the managers whilst encouraging players to admit when they might have concussion.

They need to work something out though as quite clearly players are using it to break up play and I'm reasonably confident managers are encouraging it.
